Penta Debuts on Monday Night RAW
Another Monday night RAW is in the history books for the brand-new Netflix era of the WWE staple program, and with it we saw the debut of the worst kept secret come to life with the debut of PENTA to the red brand.
After serving AEW fans for over 5 years, Penta made his departure from the company in late 2024 and many fans eagerly awaited his debut in the WWE. Penta along with his brother provided some of AEW’s best ever tag team matches (who can forget the steel cage match with the Young Bucks at ALL OUT?).
In his debut, Penta faced off with Chad Gable and it was an absolute perfect pairing for his first opponent. While he may have had to tone down some of the moves and adjusted his style to the WWE format, it doesn’t mean we have lost what made Penta unique. He still has plenty of room to grow and showcase his abilities across the roster.
Michael Cole on commentary made note of Penta’s history with TNA as well as his time in Lucha Underground. Obviously skipping over the AEW section of his career. However, if this had been 2019 WWE, there would have been absolutely no mention of Penta’s previous outings.
The presentation of Penta in this new WWE was exactly what he needed for his debut and I for one can see him being on the level of Rey Mysterio within the next few years.
Hello, I’m Scott aka RAZ. I’ve been an avid wrestling fan for over 30 years and have dabbled in both the world or pro wrestling and music. Previously commentated for Iron Fist Pro in South Australia, I now focus on more of the mainstream wrestling and run a few shows on YouTube where I breakdown the most recent happenings. Glad to be part of the team here at PWdownunder.com.
