Trick Or Treat!
Halloween season brings out the macabre creativity in several mediums the weeks leading up to Oct 31st but none moreso does that apply then to the world of pro-wrestling! In New Horizons Pro Wrestling our annual event is ‘Trick or Treat’ with this years show not only holding its fair share of frights but is ready to treat the audience with plenty of prize fights & reveals all throughout the night! Here is a preview about what audiences can expect when they head to Success (WA) Oct 26th!
‘The Dark Prophet’ Korvus (C) vs Timothy Thatcher – Art of Fighting Championship Match.
For almost an entire year the reign of ‘The Dark Prophet’ has caused disruption & chaos throughout NHPW. Korvus has used his position as champion to enhance his influence as well the power behind his movement which call themselves the ‘Sons of Samuel’ which he leads as its Firstborn son with an iron fist. Whether it be through employing underhanded tactics or sheer force of will, The Sons have ensured that the Art of Fighting Title stays around Korvus’ waist whether it was against the likes of NHPW standouts Orion James, Salem Sixx & even the Samoan Dynasty’s Lance Anoai!
The Sons present often themselves as having no fear. Now after Korvus survived his latest title defence against the man he won the title from back in November, Jarrad Slate (more on him later), Korvus wishes to display a true show of force by confronting this next challenger which in this situation could prove his downfall.
Challenging for the gold is Timothy Thatcher, a former NXT Tag-Team Champion & the longest reigning Evolve Champion who is inarguably the most scientific mat-based specialist on the independent circuit today. In his Australian wrestling debut Thatcher demanded a champion calibre opponent which has been delivered to him in spades! As the epitome of a ground & pound juggernaut, Thatcher is known to mercilessly dissect his opponents for several minutes at a time leaving several broken bodies in his wake. Korvus is predominantly a power-based wrestler that also loves his fair share of torment, but against an enemy such as Thatcher he will need to adapt quickly if he wants to survive with his body & reign intact! In the face of adversity such as this, who will walk away the champion!
‘The Phenom’ Lena Kross (C) vs ‘The AK-47’ Alyssin Kay – Indygurlz Championship Match
Beginning her wrestling career in 2017, Lena has shown her limitless potential as one of the premiere athletes coming out of not just Western Australia, but our country as a whole. On May 26th 2019, after two years of climbing her way up the ranks in Perth wrestling, Lena Kross defeated Mercedes Martinez & Nicole Savoy in a triple-threat match to not only win our ‘Global Conflict’ womens wrestling tournament but became our new Womens Champion! And what a reign it has been!
In spite of several international excursions Lena has never forgotten her roots continuing to defend her title against the likes of Erika Reid, Diamante, Vipress (& even NXT newest prospect ZARIA) making Lena the only wrestler to possess a reign longer then even the pandemic era! As it stands her reign sits at 1,980 days with her next milestone of 2,000 well within her grasp. Her only obstacle though the ‘The AK-47’ Allysin Kay (aka Sienna) who is ready to shoot her shot in her Perth debut performing the herculean feat of stopping ‘The Phenom’.
Though walking into Success as champion, when she last returned to Perth Lena was unable to win this years Global Conflict Tournament meaning she is out to reassert her dominance by retaining her title against a former TNA (as well as NWA) Womens Champion with nothing else standing in the way of her 2,000 days!
Does Allysin Kay know all she needs to break our Phenom’s streak or is WA still the land of Kross!
THE PAREA [Gabriel Aeros & Eli Theseus] (C) vs THE GREAT & THE GORGEOUS [Gorgeous Garry & The Great George] – SST Legacy Tag-Titles Match
Hailing from Mount Olympus (though some may dispute Adelaide) & weighing in at 1,000 tonnes of pure marble, whenever The Parea enter a new territory they seize every accolade they set their minds towards making them the deadliest tag-team on the continent today. Since making their New Horizons debuts back in 2022, The Parea quickly placed themselves in contention for all of NHPW’s tag-team accomplishments winning not only the annual Headshrinker Samu Legacy Cup for 2023 but becoming our Tag-Team Champions!
Not long after obtaining their prizes from Perth the pair quickly amassed several more championships from other states taking on the monikers of the ‘Kings of the Continent’ & demanding greater challengers with each visit back to Perth. After 400+ days with The Parea as the undefeated rulers of Tag-Team wrestling in WA, a new team has united, found great success & is ready to take them down!
The Great George & Gorgeous Garry are two unlikely personalities who though both charismatic submission specialists nobody ever fathomed could team together with their histories on opposing sides but now seem tailor made for each other! At the start of this year The Great & The Gorgeous won the 2024 Headshrinker Samuel Legacy Cup & have made their intentions known for months they want to not only topple The Parea but bring the tag-titles back home to WA!
This match was originally scheduled earlier in the year however both teams had injured teammates which meant the match had to be postponed. Now this Saturday in Success that time has come to see whose undefeated streak remains intact & walks out as the tag-team champions!
‘Mother Freakin Bear’ Jarrad Slate & ‘The Nightmare’ Salem Sixx vs ‘The BattleAxe’ Ares & ??? – Tag-Team Match
One of the premier tag-teams formed in NHPW, when Jarrad Slate took Salem Sixx under his wing they became an unstoppable unit that quickly amassed fear & prestige with every encounter. When Jarrad Slate became one of NHPW’s most deocrated Art of Fighting Champions, the pair had to venture down different paths.
Slate was a merciless fighting champion whose reign only ended at the hands of Korvus who cashing in a championship opportunity that could be used anytime, which happened to be mere moments after Slate retained his title in a war with the ‘Jurassic Punk’ Syd Parker. Throughout 2024 Slate has been endured several trials set out by Korvus before he could get his rematch which included the likes of Edward Dusk, Mick Moretti & even former Zero 1 World Champion Chris Vice! But Slate overcame everyone placed in front of him & finally got his hands on Korvus at NHPW’s last event ‘Guardians of Wrestling’ in a Lumberjack Match. However a former ally of Korvus that was thought laid to rest emerged during this fight to shockingly aid Korvus in defeating Slate.
Now Slate is ready to go to war with the Sons of Samuel & is ready to reunite with Salem who has also endured hardships at the hands of the Sons who have sent out Ares & a mystery partner. Will it be the being that aided Korvus…or another creature altogether?
Jebediah Clark (C) vs Jason Wingard vs ‘The Acolyte Taylor Pearce – Hybrid Championship Triple-Threat Match
Throughout most of 2024 the lineage of the Hybrid Title had been thrown into disarray with a wrestler name Ryan Allan stealing Jebediah’s title back in February & began professing himself to be the ‘Real Hybrid Champion’ who would have ‘title defences’ with unsuspecting referees & camera hands to prove his superiority. At ‘Guardians of Wrestling’ Jebediah finally bested Ryan Allan in a Last Man Standing Title Match putting all the naysayers to rest that Jebediah reign was ever in doubt. Now rid of this obstacle Jebediah is ready to return to being a fighting champion & has been given two rising stars from the Perth Wrestling Academy who have crossed Jebediah in recent months; Jason Wingard & Taylor Pearce of the ‘Sons of Samael’!
While Jebediah is a formidable opponent, he now had two hungry competitors to keep an eye on who have never had an opportunity such as this. With The Sons always on the hunt for more championships & Wingard having a chip on his shoulder bigger then anybody on the roster, will we see Jebediahs reign come to an end mere months after he finished resolving his claim?!
With all of these matches to look forward including one yet to be announced with the likes of former UPW Womens Champion, ‘The Queen of Queensland’ Tessa Armstrong, Oct 26th is looking to be a night full of thrills & chills for NHPW.
NHPW’s final show for 2024 will take place Nov 30th at the Cockburn Youth Centre where we host our fifteenth ‘Final Chapter’!
