REF Week: A Poem By Dave Harding
In the squared circle, where heroes clash,
Referees dance in shadows, silent and fast.
With eagle eyes, they watch the fight,
Guiding warriors through the night.
Stripes of black and white, their badge of honor,
Balancing chaos, never a goner.
They count the pins, break the holds,
Guardians of rules, brave and bold.
In the heat of the battle, they remain calm,
An unsung hero, a soothing balm.
Amidst the roars and cries of the crowd,
They stand firm, steadfast and proud.
Their role, a crucial, unseen art,
Ensuring fairness, playing their part.
With every count and call they make,
The story unfolds, the legends they shape.
