Tuesday Morning RAW August 20
RAW: 20/08/2024
Channel: Foxtel WWE Channel/Kayo/Binge
As Bash in Berlin gets closer Raw is getting better, in this week’s show we get a glimpse of what the PLE might look like. This week we see a new match being announced for the PLE and the feud between Randy and Gunther progressing. The Terror Twins continue to face off against Judgement Day and Bronson Reed continues to shine.
Randy Orton and Gunther
Randy Orton would start this week’s Raw, but he wouldn’t be able to say much until the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther would join him. The Florida crowd was extremely hostile towards Gunther being so loud that Randy couldn’t hear what he was saying. Once the crowd finally calmed down Gunther would say that he would never let Randy hit him with an RKO again and he would call Randy the most successful one-trick pony in WWE history. Randy would try and retaliate but Ludwig Kaiser would attack Randy from behind setting up for the main event of the night. The segment once again showed that Gunther is the best person in the WWE at coming up with insults for other wrestlers and it also indicates Kaiser as a potential factor for their match at Bash in Berlin.
Pete Dunne VS Sheamus
The opening match of the night finally saw Sheamus get his match against his former friend Pete Dunne. Pete Dunne would use his joint manipulation skills to focus his attacks on Sheamus’s arm that Pete Dunne injured last week. Sheamus was able to use his power to get back into the match until Pete Dunne was able to Power Bomb Sheamus off the top rope. Pete Dunne would then put Sheamus’s injured arm into the turnbuckle trapping Sheamus so Pete Dunne could kick the already injured arm. Sheamus would once again use his power to rip the turnbuckle from the ring post freeing himself where he would then hit Pete Dunne with a Brogue Kick to get the win. While this felt like a great opportunity to push Pete Dunne, he unfortunately couldn’t get the job done but he was still able to put on a great show and a rematch between the two is bound to happen soon.
Maxxine Dupri VS Ivy Nile
Maxxine Dupri out for revenge after Ivy Nile betrayed her last week for American Made. Maxxine would come out strong against Ivy who wasn’t taking Maxxine seriously until Ivy Nile was able to stop Maxxine’s momentum and gain the advantage. As Ivy had Maxxine knocked down the lights would go out and smoke would start to fill the arena as the Wyatt Sicks music began to play. The rest of American Made would come to the aid of Ivy but their efforts were useless as Abbey the Witch would attack Ivy and the rest of the Wyatt Sicks would go after the Creed Brothers. This left only Chad Gable in the ring as Uncle Howdy appeared and hit Gable with Sister Abigail as the Wyatt Sicks once again stood tall over Chad Gable. This segment has finally led us to Uncle Howdy’s in-ring debut next week for his long-awaited match against Chad Gable, which will surely deliver something special.
Miz VS Bronson Reed
After R-Truth was destroyed by Bronson Reed in last weeks show The Miz had to stick up for his friend by challenging Bronson Reed to a no disqualification match. Miz would try to use as many weapons as possible to try and gain somewhat of an advantage against Bronson Reed by bringing chairs, kendo sticks and a table into the ring. Miz would soon learn that Bronson Reed wasn’t afraid to use weapons either as Miz found himself put through the table that he brought into the ring. Bronson would finish off the Miz by hitting him with the Tsunami winning the match. Once again Bronson would go for another Tsunami but instead of security Braun Strowman would come out to challenge Bronson to a match next week. This match once again showed the talent that Bronson Reed has inside the ring and with him getting a big opportunity against Strowman next week this could be his chance to start pushing towards his first singles title on the main roster of the WWE.
Dom’s trap
Earlier in the show Dominic Mysterio would challenge Damian Priest to a match with no Judgement Day. This however was a lie as Damian Priest predicted as when Damian was walking out to the ring the Judgement Day would attempt to attack him. Priest however would take out Carlito, JD McDonough and Finn Balor single-handedly as Rhea Ripley would enter the ring behind Dom. Priest would join in as Rhea and Damian would take turns hitting Dominic as they would set Dom up to go through the commentator’s table. As Rhea was about to do it Liv Morgan would come out to save Dom as the rest of the Judgement Day would beat down Damian and make him watch as Liv Morgan took out Rhea. For the first time since Summer Slam the Judgement Day were able to get the better of the Terror Twins as they build towards their match at Bash in Berlin.

Randy Orton VS Ludwig Kaiser
After the opening segment of the show Ludwig Kaiser and Randy Orton would go 1 on 1 in the main event. Randy would start strong until Gunther would make his way to ring side diringside Randy long enough for Kaiser to take advantage. Kaiser would steal Randy’s table slam and follow up by kicking Randy’s knee into the steel stairs. Kaiser would begin to focus his attacks on the knee although he would get too cocky by going for a second steel stairs kick that Randy saw coming as he hit Kaiser with a clothesline. Randy would hold his momentum throughout the rest of the match as he was able to end Kaiser with an RKO. Gunther who wasn’t happy with the result ran in and attacked Randy who managed to get the better of Gunther by poking him in the eye until Raw was cut off early. The main event of tonight showed off Ludwig Kaiser’s potential as he was able to hold his own in the ring against a 14-time world champion as the feud between Gunther and Randy also heats up before they meet at Bash in Berlin next weekend.
This week’s show turned out better than last week as there was nonstop action throughout. Every match tonight was high quality and the storytelling is setting up Bash in Berlin to be another great PLE. This week also set up next week’s Raw with some big matches announced with Bronson Reed against Braun Strowman and Uncle Howdy getting his match against Chad Gable.
