Aussie & Former NXT Star Makes TNA Wrestling Debut
Former Rugby League winger Daniel Vidot has stepped into a wrestling ring for the first time since leaving the WWE. Known as Xyon Quinn on NXT and WWE television, the Aussie made his TNA Wrestling debut on the August 2nd taping of TNA Xplosion in a losing effort against former World Champion Steve Maclin.
Vidot was released from his WWE contract in April of this year, after signing for the promotion six years ago in 2018. As Xyon Quinn, he would spend a majority of his WWE career in NXT. He was drafted to the main roster in 2023 and was defeated by Bron Breakker in his final WWE match on Smackdown in March 2024.
Prior to his career in Professional Wrestling. Vidot played professional Rugby League in Australia and England. He has made appearances for the Canberra Raiders, St George Illawarra Dragons, Brisbane Broncos and Gold Coast Titans in the Australian based National Rugby League. Vidot also played for the Salford Red Devils in the English based Super League and for the Samoa national team.
Vidot’s athletic ability as a rugby player is what caught the attention of WWE scouts. He took part in a 2016 WWE try-out during his move to the Red Devils, and declined an earlier try out in 2015 due to wanting to remain with the Broncos.
