Father Of Roman Reigns Sika Anoaʻi Passes Away
WWE Hall of famer Sika Anoa’I has sadly passed away on the 25th of June at the age of 79.
The news was confirmed by Sika’s nephew and then backed up by his son current WWE superstar Roman Reigns.
Sika was most well known for being part of the Wild Samoans tag team with his brother Afa the duo debuted as a team in 1973 in Stampede wrestling.
The team wrestled in most territories at the time and winning titles in every major American promotion they stepped foot in with Sika amassing 18 title reigns throughout his career.
Three of which at the WWE where he spent majority of his career and in 2007, he was a part of that year’s class in the WWE Hall of Fame.
Sika and Afa started The Wild Samoan Training Facility notable alumni are their nephew Yokozuna and Batista.
Following his passing many people across the wrestling world expressed support for his family which led to reigns writing out a thank you to everyone who shared kind words.
“My family and I thank everyone for the outpouring of support in the name of my father, Pola’ivao Leati Sika Anoa’i, who will forever be remembered as one half of The Wild Samoans tag team. My father had a profound impact on my entire family and we are forever grateful for the foundation he built for us. There’s no way to fill the void left by his passing but my sisters and I will do our best to represent him and his legacy.
