Toni Storm Regains AEW Women’s Championship At Double Or Nothing
Capitalising on her new found attitude, aggression and circle of friends, Aussie Toni Storm has once again captured gold in All Elite Wrestling in a triumphant victory over rival Jamie Hayter at AEW Double Or Nothing, regaining the AEW Women’s Championship in a short contest.
It has been reported by the likes of PWInsider Elite that Hayter had been suffering from a back injury in the weeks leading up to the event on May 28th. It is unknown for how long she will be absent from AEW television.
The rivalry between Storm and Hayter had kicked off following former AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa becoming frequently absent from appearances due to injury and thus, an interim champion was set to be crowned.
Toni Storm would defeat Hayter, Hikaru Shida and Dr. Britt Baker DMD at AEW All Out 2022 to hold the belt for the first time. After a series of television defences, Storm and Hayter would meet at Full Gear in November 2022, where Hayter was victorious and crowned the new interim champion.
It wasn’t long before Thunder Rosa was forced to relinquish the championship, making Jamie Hayter the official AEW Women’s Champion.
