Tuesday Morning Raw Review – 11/04/2023
Segment 1: Match
We open Raw with Rey Mysterio coming out to a huge ovation from the crowd. Rey talks about how crazy a year he is having due to his feud with his son. This prompts Dominic to come out and go back and forth with his dad about Wrestlemania. We come back to see Balor and Rey wrestling while Dom watching from the sidelines. Balor dominated most of the first half but Rey begins to make a comeback. However, Dom helps Balor to get the win over his Dad. This match was pretty great for TV, but we know they can do better.
Segment 2: Match
Backstage, Lita is found beaten up so Trish Stratus takes her place in the tag title match against Raquel and Morgan. Its Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus vs Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan for the Women’s Tag Titles. The match was alright I guess but it does continue the story of Liv Morgan tagging with random people to win the tag titles which is quite amusing. Post match Trish Stratus attacks Becky Lynch and knocks her out.
Segment 3: Match
Its Bobby Lashley vs Bronson Reed. This match gets off to a hot start between both men striking each other. Reed casually countering a suplex from Lashley is lovely. Lashley then gets momentum on his side and goes for the Hurt Lock. Unfortunately, Reed has a massive face and it don’t work too well. Reed counters the lock and start fighting on the outside of the ring to a double count out. It becomes a pull apart brawl and boy was this match fun to watch. Big beefy men, slapping meat.
Segment 4: Promo
Its time for a Cody Rhodes promo, yay. He apologised to the fans for not winning at Mania, hahahaha. He calls that loss a bump on the road. He then goes to say that he is scared of Brock Lesnar, but despite his fear, he still wants to fight Lesnar. Ah, another day, another white meat babyface promo from Rhodes. He can go in the ring don’t get me wrong but damn do I think his promos are generic. So glad Roman retained at Mania.
Segment 5: Match
It’s the Usos vs Alpha Academy. Poor Chad, he just wants Otis to wrestle but Otis wants to model, love these guys so much. This match is just a lot of fun to watch because both teams are great. In the end the Usos hit the 1D on Gable to win the match, shame they couldn’t lose but you know what can’t complain too much.
Segment 6: Match
Its Iyo Sky vs Piper Niven vs Mia Yim. Prior to the match Bayley convinces Adam Pearce to put herself in the match but gets told by Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky that she had her chance and she blew it. Bayley then gets Sky in the match. This match is for the number one contendership for the Raw women’s title. Immediaely, Iyo Sky is thrown out of the ring but comes back in with a missile dropkick. Mia Yim takes control for a bit but Sky takes control of the match. The three competitors sort of take it in turns to have the upper hand. However, in the end Iyo Sky hits Mia Yim with a great moonsault to become number one contender to the Raw Women’s Champion.
Segment 7: Match
It’s the Main Event and once again its Kevin Owens vs Solo Sikoa Solo is being accompanied to the ring by the Usos. Match was pretty good, because Owens and Sikoa have good chemistry. Post match, The Bloodline beat down Owens but out comes Sami Zayn and Matt Riddle to chase them away.
