What’s On This Weekend In Australian Wrestling – 10/04/25

NEW SOUTH WALES

Pro Wrestling Australia‘s bringing back the Black Label for quite possibly their biggest show of the year, Chevs vs Troy, taking place at the Factory Theatre in Enmore this Friday. While a lot of the focus on this event will be on the main event, the entire card also looks quite enticing:

PWA Heavyweight Championship Last Wrestler Standing Match – Charli Evans vs. Jessica Troy (c):

At Night 1 of PWA Colosseum, on the 12th of October last year, PWA Heavyweight champion Jessica Troy successfully defended her title in the Colosseum Tournament against one of her closest friends, Charli Evans. The very next night, Troy went on to win the entire tournament, along with the coveted Colosseum Sword. After the match, Charli Evans seemingly came out to congratulate her friend on such an achievement. This, however, turned out to be a ruse, as Evans would shockingly attack Troy and align herself with North Shore Wrestling, throwing away 10 years of friendship in the process.

From there, Troy and Evans, along with North Shore Wrestling, would be embroiled in an extremely personal feud, with a collision between the two seemingly inevitable. That was, however, until Jessica Troy suffered an ankle injury at MountiesMania last December in trios action against North Shore Wrestling, putting the future of the Troy/Evans rivalry, as well as the status of Troy’s championship, into question. It wouldn’t take long for this future to become clear as, at Tag Race last January, Charli Evans would challenge Jessica Troy to a Last Wrestler Standing match on the 11th of April. With the challenge accepted and Troy medically, this personal rivalry looks to come to a head.

Soul of PWA Championship Match – Jimmy Townsend vs. Robbie Eagles (c):

Jimmy Townsend is sick of the disrespect that Robbie Eagles has displayed to the PWA roster since winning the Soul of PWA Championship. Townsend also believes that Eagles has been ducking him out of fear and out of jealousy that Townsend has already surpassed him as a professional wrestler, leading to Townsend throwing out the challenge to prove him wrong at Chevs vs Troy.

PWA Tag Team Championships Match – The Regime (Backman & Ricky South) vs. Backslide Girlz (Shay Kassidy & Kingsley) (c):

The Backslide Girlz will make their first ever defense of the PWA Tag Team Championships this Friday against The Regime, who have been building quite a bit of momentum in PWA in recent months.

Six Man Over The Top Rope Challenge – Tony Sin vs. Jack J Bonza vs. Big Fudge vs. Aaron Jake vs. Xander Sullivan vs. Kai Drake:

Six of PWA‘s top competitors will duke it out in an over the rope challenge, with the winner earning the highly important #30 spot in the upcoming King of the Metro Rumble match.

Ben Braxton vs. Hari Singh:

Two of NSW’s top talents go head to head this Friday, as Ben Braxton takes on Hari Singh

PWA Trios Premiership Tournament First Round Match – The Velocities (Jude London & Paris De Silva) & Velkan vs. PPK (Frankie B & Nikki Van Blair) & Marley Peleti:

The first round of the PWA Trios Premiership rolls on this Friday, as The Velocities unite with the debuting Velkan to take on the trio of PPK and Marley Peleti.

Chevs Vs Troy will undoubtedly be a game-changing event for PWA, which cannot be missed.

All Star Wrestling Australia is gearing up for a massive event this Saturday, as they bring Anniversary VII to the Padstow RSL Club. To commemorate their seventh year since opening, AWSA have put together a massive card:

All-Star Wrestling Heavyweight Championship Triple Threat Match – Keegan Bettle (c) vs. The Puppeteer vs. Sam Cannon:

At Survival of the Fittest, in the event’s titular rumble match, this past February, Sam Cannon and The Puppeteer were the final two participants. They would proceed to make a joke out of the entire rumble, with both men REFUSING to eliminate each other, with The Puppeteer going so far as to call for a draw and crown BOTH men as the winner. This prompted the All-Star Wrestling Heavyweight Championship Keegan Bettle to come out and give Cannon & The Pupeteer exactly what they want: A draw and a shot at the championship at Anniversary VII.

All-Star Wrestling Eastern States Championship Match – Jack Dullahan (c) vs. Jay Law:

The undefeated Jack Dullahan has been on an unstoppable run since March of 2022, not being pinned or submitted EVER. Dancin’ Dave Watters vs. Wes Williams:

Dating all the way back to last August, Watters and Williams have been entangled in a heated rivalry, stemming from Watters attacking Dancin’ Dave in an attempt to get into Keegan Bettle’s head. Now, they will finally get their chance to compete one on one this Saturday at Anniversary VII.
