SmackDown gets Lucha’d

Former AEW Tag Team Champion and brother of the Raw brands Penta, REY FENIX made his debut inside a WWE ring on today’s (April 5th) edition of SmackDown which aired live from Chicago.
The last time we saw Fenix inside an AEW branded wrestling ring was back in July of 2024 and not long after him and his brother were both written off AEW television due to contractual issues and backstage problems begun to surface between the two men and the young company.
The WWE ran some vignettes a few weeks back teasing the debut of a masked wrestler and it sent fans into a frenzy of speculation of when and where Fenix would land on the main roster of the WWE.
In his debut within WWE, Fenix would go on to have his first match against one half of the current NXT Tag Team Champions, Nathan Frazer. Ultimately Fenix put on a display of Lucha in his debut as he took the win over Frazer.
After the match was over, much like his brother, Fenix would get on the mic and address the Chicago crowd telling them that this was not his debut, it was the rebirth of Rey Fenix and that he has waited his whole life to say this, “I AM WWE”.
Hello, I’m Scott aka RAZ. I’ve been an avid wrestling fan for over 30 years and have dabbled in both the world or pro wrestling and music.
