“COMPLETELY OFF THE BONE”: IPW Heavyweight Champion Sledgehammer reveals bicep injury, forced to vacate championship

At around 6:00pm last night, current IPW Heavyweight Champion Sledgehammer announced in a joint post between his and the Impact Pro Wrestling Instagram accounts that he has torn his bicep in his right arm COMPLETELY off the bone, requiring surgery to repair and a lengthy recovery time which will force him to vacate the championship.

In regards to the future of the championship, Sledgehammer claims to have “no idea what the plan is…to crown a new champion…”, continuing on to say that he’ll “leave that decision up to IPW management”. He then proceeds to welcome the competition that the vacant title will breed, stating how “…everyone should be gunning for this title, it is the top prize in this industry”. An announcement on the status of the IPW Heavyweight Championship will likely be made soon.

On the topic of his future, Sledgehammer has made it known that he will be back “…without a doubt”. He continues by saying “This is my life…I love this sport, I love these fans…” and “injuries like this are part of the game…”, making it clear that an injury will not be enough to keep Sledgehammer down.

We here at pwdownunder.com wish Sledgehammer a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in the ring soon.
