MY THOUGHTS
Toni Storm continues to be an amazing worker both in the ring and on the microphone. Her character is by far the best of the women’s division in AEW and just continues to go from strength to strength. Also AEW managed to pull off one of the best visuals of 2025 this week when Toni got booted in the face by Penelope Ford on Collision. It was literally in the first 5 minutes of the show and was perfect for what they did in that segment.

Speaking of the women’s division, we got a couple of new injections as well as the return of Jamie Hayter. But we definitely have to talk about the fact that the Forever Champ, Athena has made her re-debut in the company on Collision and has set her sights on the Owen Hart Cup and Mercedes Mone. To me this is absolutely perfect and if booked right (eg Athena winning the belt from Mercedes) then it could propel Athena even further.
Also, can we take a minute to appreciate that on both Dynamite and Collision this week, the women main evented the shows. That shows that TK is listening to the audience and trying to work on his booking and help further the progress.
AEW is picking up the momentum again and has found the footing it needed to set itself apart from other companies and it is going to be a great ride in 2025.
