G’Day everyone and welcome to yet another round up of the week that was within All Elite Wrestling. This week we saw some classic AEW action, some further development in stories and a moment that got so much attention online. Let’s delve into the action right away.

DYNAMITE RESULTS

Dynamite is coming to us from the Liberty First Credit Union Arena located in Omaha, Nebraska and we are kicking things off hot by determining who will face Kenny Omega for the AEW International Championship at Dynasty.

AEW INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP ELIMINATOR TOURNAMENT – SPEEDBALL MIKE BAILEY VS MARK DAVIS VS ORANGE CASSIDY VS RICOCHET

Cassidy mocks Speedball’s kicks with some of his own and delivers a shotgun dropkick. Ricochet pulls Cassidy to the outside as Speedball follows up with a diving hurricanrana to the floor. Speedball tries one on Davis but he gets powerbombed instead. Cassidy gets back suplexed on the apron for his trouble.

Pump kick by Bailey to Ricochet on the apron. Speedball lays some chops in on Davis but Davis responds with one and absolutely floors him. Ricochet grabs a headset and lets us know that he’s going to pick his spots here. Senton by Davis to Speedball but Cassidy is back with Stundog Millionaire.

Cassidy holds Davis there and Speedball comes of the top with a pair of knees. Helluva kick by Speedball and a missile dropkick off the top. High kick by Bailey and Davis finally goes down. Running Shooting Star Press by Speedball, and Ricochet dumps him. One by Riccohet, and Cassidy dumps him.

Cassidy with a splash and he gets a one count. Triple boots to Davis but Davis eats it! Davis runs through everyone. Cassidy and Davis trade suplex attempts, and Cassidy finally gets him! Deja vu by Cassidy takes down Ricochet. Satellite DDT by Cassidy but Ricochet counters with a Northern Light’s suplex.

Ricochet wants a suplex but Cassidy counters with Stundog Millionaire. Speedball takes Davis off the apron to the floor and knocks Cassidy out with a high kick! Two count. Short Falcon Arrow by Speedball. Shooting Star Press by Speedball CRUSHES Cassidy, and Ricochet pulls Speedball off the cover! Twisting plancha to the outside by Ricochet on to Davis and Speedball, and a Shooting Star Press (another one) to Cassidy! One, two, no!

Cartwheel kick takes out Davis and a lariat to Speedball, both from Ricochet. Powerbomb into a Death Valley Driver by Riccohet on Speedball! Two count. Satellite DDT to Ricochet! Beach Break to Speedball. Orange Punch to Davis! One, two, no! Springboard clothesline by Ricochet sends Cassidy reeling. Davis with lariats to Speedball and Ricochet. One armed powerbomb to Bailey and a pop up powerbomb to Ricochet. Pop-up by the ankles into a piledriver on Cassidy from Davis!

Bailey breaks up the pin. High kick from Bailey and a shooting star knee drop. High kick to the back of the head! Back slide by Bailey and Ricochet hops on top, both on Davis! One, two, three! Who wins?

AEW TBS CHAMPIONSHIP – BILLIE STARKZ VS MERCEDES MONE (C)

Mone grounds and pounds Starkz early. Mone eventually rolls to the outside and Starkz follows up with a suicide dive. Somersault senton by Starkz to the outside takes out Mone, but Starkz lands hard on the floor herself.

Back in the ring and Starkz connects with a senton! Electric Chair by Starkz but Mone goes to the eyes and connects with a backstabber. Two count. Both women trade tombstone attempts, but Mone counters to a double knee gut buster from the tombstone position. Mone looks for the Three Amigos but Starkz counters the third into a brainbuster on the knee.

High knee and a hook kick by Starkz and a lariat by Mone and we reset. Lucha cradle by Starkz. One by Mone. Two counts everywhere. Crucifix by Starkz gets two. John Wu dropkick by Starkz into the corner. Alabama Slam INTO THE BUCKLE by Starkz! Woooooof. Electric Chair by Starkz into a.. One Winged Angel? Kind of? Mone landed HARD.

Somehow Mone gets her foot up on the rope but that was a brutal landing. Mone rolls to the apron and Starkz comes off the top with a senton and MISSES. Mone pulls her in by the back in a crucifix and gets two. Mone wastes no time in locking in the Statement Maker and this one is over.

NO DQ AEW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP – JON MOXLEY (C) VS COPE

Cope blasts Moxley in the back during his entrance and here we go. There’s a blizzard in Nebraska, by the way. Dropkick by Cope sends Moxley into a garage door. Moxley now takes the briefcase to Cope’s face. Both guys fight through the crowd and her we go.

Cope blasts Moxley in the face with the microphone and suplexes him on the floor. Running boot in the corner to Moxley by the guardrail, but Moxley ducks underneath and locks in the rear naked choke. Moxley decides to twist Cope’s head off instead and then bounces his head off the LED board. Moxley finds a kendo stick, cracks it over the back of Cope, and then chokes him with it. Moxley now tries to escape through the crowd, but Cope follows and tosses a garbage can in his face.

Both guys are trading elbows in the crowd now until they get to the announcer’s desk, as Moxley gouges the eyes and bites the nose of Cope. Paradigm Shift on the desk and the desk doesn’t budge! Moxley is laying into Cope with chair shots to the back. Moxley now grinds the chair on the throat of Cope and flips off everyone in the arena. Both guys on the top rope now and Cope scratches the back of Moxley and superplexes him off the top! Clotheslines by Cope, who rolls underneath the ring and finds… Spike!

Cope walks back in the ring and right into an Ace Crusher! Moxley rolls out and looks underneath the ring, grabbing a table himself. Moxley sets up the table in the corner and Cope blasts him in the stomach with Spike, and now, in the back! Suplex on SPIKE AND SPIKE IT STICKING OUT OF MOXLEY’S BACK. HOLY S**T. MOXLEY IS STANDING UP AND SPIKE IS STICKING OUT OF HIS BACK.

Yuta is here with the Busaiku Knee on Cope! Yuta tries to pull the knee out of Moxley’s back and it’s stuck. This is gross. Cope powerbombs Yuta through a table! Pac and Claudio are here and they jump Cope. Pac puts Cope’s head on a chair but FTR are here! Dax piledrives Moxley and clotheslines Pac over the top. Cash takes out Claudio with a suicide dive and both guys hit the announce desk and HARD. Moxley gets speared through the table! One, two, NO!

Marina Shafir breaks up the pin! Shafir mounts Cope and drops some punches but Willow Nightingale is here and she takes out Shafir with a cannonball off the apron! This is madness. Spear to Kip Sabian! Wayne’s World on Cope! The Patriarchy is here! Moxley rolls Cope over and only gets a two count! Bulldog choke by Moxley and it’s tight. Cope is asleep.

WILL OSPREAY VS AR FOX

Both guys handspring out of cutters, trade arm drags, waist locks, and more. Stundog Millionaire by Ospreay and Fox retreats to the outside.

Plancha by Ospreay takes out Fox and the crowd is loving this. Back from break with a pair of enziguiri from Fox. Spanish Fly by Ospreay. Hook kick by Ospreay! Hidden Blade is ducked and Fox counters with a low cutter. Helluva kick in the corner and Fox goes up top, but Ospreay catches him.

Cheeky Nandos is blocked, and Fox takes Ospreay in the hard way with a Spanish Fly off the top! Fox goes up top… 450 is missed! Hidden Blade and we are done here.

MEGAN BAYNE VS KRIS STATLANDER

Both women exchanging power early, with Bayne powering Statlander out of the ring. Statlander comes off the top with a missile dropkick and a big boot. Two count. Back elbow off the middle rope by Statlander. Statlander goes up top but Penelope Ford distracts her, allowing Bayne to knock her from the top to the apron with an elbow.

Deadlift back suplex by Bayne! Two count. Running Liger Bomb by Bayne! Fate’s Descent is blocked and Statlander connects with an axe kick. Both women now trade overhands here until Statlander comes back with a Pele kick. Ford trips up Statlander and the referee tosses her! Crowd goes bananas for that. High kick by Statlander. Thrust kick by Bayne. Bayne tries a big boot but Statlander drops to a knee, squats, and powerbombs her! Leg trapped Michinoku Driver by Statlander! Two count.

German suplex by Bayne. By Statlander. By Bayne. Rebound by Statlander! Lariat by Bayne. Statlander rolls to the outside and Bayne follows with a suicide dive! Stalling Falcon Arrow by Bayne gets two. Bayne misses a charge and Statlander DDTs her from the apron through the middle rope.

Cannonball off the apron by Statlander. Bayne ducks under and throws Statlander into Toni Storm at ringside. Fate’s Descent on the floor! Another Fate’s Descent in the ring and Statlnader is down for the three

This week Collision is split into two due to the NCAA Basketball Championships with each night hosting a special one-hour episode. We are once again in the Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Omaha, Nebraska.

AEW TRIOS CHAMPIONSHIP = THE DEATH RIDERS (C) VS TOP FLIGHT / AR FOX

Darius Martin and Wheeler Tura to start, as both guys have an exciting hold-for-hold here, ending with Darius dropkicking Yuta in the face. Spinning back kick, low foot sweep, and a double knee drop by Top Flight. Pac comes in and gets caught with a diving back elbow by Dante.

AR Fox in now and he connects with an enziguiri. Somersault foot stomp to Pac on the apron and a senton, off of Pac, to Yuta on the floor. Claudio connects with a running boot on Fox on the floor and Death Riders are back in control. Fox is grounded now, and Yuta is in with a snap suplex. One count.

Jawbreaker by Fox and he makes the tag to Darius. Low bulldog over the middle rope and a bottom rope assisted Flatliner. Two count. Springboard somersault senton by Dante takes out Claudio but Yuta rakes Darius’ eyes behind the referee’s back. Arm trapped Angle Slam gets two. Yuta connects with a dropkick to Darius’ face before Pac gets the tag.

Pac strangles Darius with the bottom rope and there’s quick tags made here. Claudio in now and he pops Darius up into the air, as Darius counters with a dropkick. Dante gets the tag and he clears the ring. Springboard cross body to Yuta. Dante sends Pac into Yuta, before sending both guys to the floor. Double jump springboard somersault senton.

Fox catches Claudio with a running moonsault off the middle rope to the floor. Senton by Fox off the top to Yuta! Two count. Fox goes up again but Claudio snatches the leg. Top Flight pull off Claudio but Yuta crotches Fox. Double low blow on the far side by Pac. Death Riders circle Fox but Fox fights back with lefts, rights, chops, and whatever else he can muster. Triple team beat down by Death Riders. Forever running back elbows by everyone. Tombstone by Pac and the Fastball Special finishes this one

TV cuts Bandido off and delivers some roundhouse kicks to the back. Bandido with a running monkey flip and TV over-flips and lands on his face. Military press by Bandido, who transitions to a single-arm military before dropping him to the mat.

Johnny TV running into a big boot in the corner. European uppercut by Bandido. Double boots to Bandido catch Johnny in mid-air. Reverse fireman’s carry into the GTS! 21 Plex and this one is over

Kitchen sink by Harley and a Russian Leg Sweep. Belmont with a sit-out neckbreaker but she runs into a back elbow. Enziguiri by Harley. Pump handle tear drop suplex by Harley. FEEL THE WRATH. Harley finishes this one with… Her Finishing Move.

HOLOGRAM / KOMANDER VS LA FACCION INGOBERNALES

Harley Cameron joins the announce desk for this one. Hologram and Mortos do some insane back and forth early, ending with Holoram going deva vu three times and sending Mortos reeling with an arm drag.

Komander tags himself in and catches Mortos with a springboard frog splash. Inside-out tieres and a follow up in the corner but Mortos gets the feet up. Dralistico runs through Komander with a shoulder block but Komander walks the ropes with an arm drag.

Enziguiri over the ropes by Komander to Mortos, but Dralistico dives over the top with a hurricanrana to the floor. Mortos with a corkscrew suicide dive to Hologram. Harley makes her way to the back during the break, by the way. Double clotheslines in the corner and Spanish Fly by Hologram.

Phoenix Splash by Komander and Harleygram has returned to ringside. Mortos and Holgoram are legal. Hook kick by Hologram. Two. Mortos catches Hologram in mid-air but Hologram counters with a destroyer. 100% commitment on the suicide dive by Hologram!

Rope walk Shooting Star Press by Komander! Arm trapped cradle by Hologram but Dralistico breaks up the pin. Komander and Dralistoco get the tag now. Dralistico catches Komander walking the ropes but Komander flips out. Rope walk double jump poisonrana to Dralistico! WOW.

Mortos takes out Komander with a huge spear. Hologram is here with a step up poisonrana to Mortos! Springboard crucifix bomb by Dralistico! Double high kick and Komaner falls on Dralistico for the two count. Springboard twisting destroyer by Dralistico!

Hologram breaks up the pin. Suicide dive by Hologram but he lands hard. Harleygram checks on Hologram, and Mortos is smitten! That allows Komander to rope walk from the far side with a corkscrew press! Back in the ring, Portal Bomb by Hologram into the rope walk Shooting Star Press by Komander! One, two, three!

MY THOUGHTS

A rather interesting week for AEW in regards to television this week. Dynamite’s opening match was extremely reminiscent of the early days of AEW and the showcase matches that would take place. I did like the way that even though Speedball is new to the company, they didn’t just throw him into a singles match with Kenny right out of the gate. The way Ricochet is involved while sneaky, was absolutely perfect for what they needed to do.

Placing the AEW World Championship as the third match of the show was a master stroke of genius, especially after the fall out from Revolution. The spot with SPIKE was insane and Moxley is an absolute champion for being willing to take that bump. I know online there has been a lot of debate about it, however it worked and got people talking so kudos to AEW for taking the chance.

Sticking with Dynamite for the moment, and I feel that we may finally be seeing the steppingstones of Athena making her way across from ROH. The match that Mercedes had with Billie was a fantastic match and the promo that Mercedes cut later in the night would definitely hint at the potential match coming up.

Also, I had to say that I was concerned that Timeless Toni would struggle after her massive feud with Mariah May as she moved on to different challengers. However, utilizing Megan Bayne’s size has really helped here and delivered a new dimension to the character of the Timeless one.

Oh, and while I am here, if the decision was up to me, I would have actually had Ospreay lose his match this week purely for the shock factor

Moving across to Collision this week and it wasn’t helped by the fact of the show being split in two. Saturday night’s episode felt very disjointed from the rest of the show; however, it did pick up on Sunday.

While the TNT Championship match was good, it suffered from a slow start, as well as looking like both men were going to drag it out which turned out to be the case. I do hope that we get a conclusion soon with Cole and Garcia facing off one final time.

The best match on the Collision weekender had to be from the second night and it was by far the main event with Hologram / Komander taking on LFI. These men clearly known how to put on a show and give the fans moments to pop for.
