What’s On This Weekend In Australian Wrestling – 14/03/25

QUEENSLAND

Pro Wrestling League is looking to keep their post-Super Show momentum going as they return to the Kedron Services Club this Saturday for Purge: Cybernight, a night of controlled chaos, with the control being placed in the hands of the fans. Just how exactly will they be in control? Read on to find out:

Purge Rumble: PWL‘s fourth ever Purge Rumble Match is set to take place this weekend and, while it’s typically involved 20-30 different competitors, with the winner receiving a shot at the PWL Championship, this year’s will be quite different. Fans have been given the opportunity to vote on three separate categories that will change the landscape of the rumble. The categories are: What the winner of the Purge Rumble will receive, how many entrants will there be & who will enter at #1. The participants announced for this unique matchup are Logan Pearce, Craven, Andre Irons, Bones (who is making his PWL debut), Jaxon Cross, Toa, Dick Rigs and Yeet Stevens.

Career vs. Company Match – “One Shot” Mitch Ryder w/ Todd Eastman vs. Robbie Eagles w/Mitch McCarthy: Feeling as though part owner of PWL Mitch McCarthy has been holding them down at every turn, Mitch Rider and Todd Eastman have had enough of McCarthy’s supposed biases against them and, after the Super Show, would throw out an incredibly high stakes challenge for McCarthy: He picks an opponent for Ryder and, if they beat him, then he and Todd Eastman will LEAVE PWL for good. However, if Ryder defeats McCarthy’s handpicked opponent, then McCarthy will give is share of PWL ownership to Ryder & Eastman! Who did McCarthy choose to take on Ryder? The very man who pinned him in the main event of Super Show, Robbie Eagles!

I Quit Match – Jesse Daniels vs. Bobby Bishop: A rivalry that dates back many years looks to reach its emotional climax this Saturday. Despite initially believing their feud to be over after their Dog Collar match at Project: Revolution V, Bobby Bishop lost the State of Origin Scramble match at the Super Show, thanks to a distraction from Jesse Daniels. After the show, a furious Bishop would lay down the challenge for Daniels, the challenge being an I Quit match, with the loser leaving PWL for good, putting a definitive end to their rivalry.

PWL Tag Team Championships Triple Threat Match – Team QWA (Sam Cannon & Trent O’Day) (c) vs. Strong 94 (Renegade & JJ Avery) vs. Wacol’s Most Wanted (Cockroach & Jack Tarr): At Super Show the Fatal Four Way Ladder Match for the PWL Tag Team titles would be subject to controversy, as Wacol’s Most Wanted’s attempt to insert themselves into the matchup would cost former champions Strong 94 the match and allow Team QWA to capitalise on the chaos and capture the titles. Wanting to give all three teams a fair shot against each other, a Triple Threat Tag Team match for the championships has been made for Cybernight.

OPW Women’s Tag Team Championships Match – Eugenie & Billie Mac (c) vs. Kyla Knight & Xtina Kade: At Super Show, the unlikely team of Eugenie & Billie Mac scored a gigantic win against the Backslide Girlz (Shay Kassidy & Kingsley), winning the OPW Women’s Tag Team Championships in the process. They’ve already got their work cut out for them as new champions, with their first title defense being locked in for Cybernight against the duo of Kyle Knight & Xtina Kade.

Purge: Cybernight will surely be yet another landmark night for Pro Wrestling League that will be well worth the price of admission.

NEW SOUTH WALES

International Wrestling Australia is coming to the Hornsby RSL this Friday for a huge night of action in the form of Hostile Territory, an event that will feature a 20 Person Over The Top Rope Rumble for the Super Contender’s Cup! Along with the rumble, there are also a big time title fight to round out the card:

20 Person Over The Top Rope Super Contender’s Cup Rumble Match: 20 of the absolute best to wrestle in NSW will compete in a Rumble match to become the first ever holder of the Super Contender’s Cup, which will grant its holder a shot at any title they want, at any time they want. Participants that have currently been announced for the Rumble include The Chief, Matt Callaway, Will Kiedis, Randal, Cosmo Cooper, Scotty Green and ALL THREE members of Third Eye.

IWA Heavyweight Championship Match – The Tuckman (c) vs. Sam Osbourne: At Suplex on the Sand 5, The Tuckman would end Jimmy Townsend’s unbelievable run as IWA Heavyweight Champion. The night would not end with The Tuckman on top, however, as North Shore Wrestling would rush the ring to attack Tuckman and steal the championship from him, before he even got the chance to hold it! Osbourne would go on to explain his reasoning behind the attack and championship theft had stemmed from his belief that Tuckman is not on his level and that he is the right man to hold up the values and traditions of the IWA Heavyweight Championship. On the other hand, Tuckman wants nothing more than to bash Sam Osbourne and finally get to hold his championship, thus setting this match up for Hostile Territory.

With two massive matches, and more surely to take place on the night, Hostile Territory will be a night to remember for IWA.

Rock ‘n’ Roll Wrestling is back on home soil and in a brand new venue, running The Fraternity Club in Fairy Meadow for the first time ever, this Saturday with We Built This City, promising a huge night of exciting action. Just how exciting? I’ll tell you!:

RRW Heavyweight Championship Match – MOses (c) vs. Lee Morrow vs. Otis: Quite possibly the biggest main event in RRW history, it’s an all star showcase that will see the RRW Heavyweight Champion put his title on the line in a Triple Threat match against two former champions, as well as two men that he’s encountered in the past, Lee Morrow and Otis.

RRW Middleweight Championship Match – Morgan Rose (c) vs. Ben The Referee: What was supposed to be The Bachelor’s final match before going on excursion to America has been thrown into disarray, thanks to an injury The Bachelor sustained during training. Luckily, underdog and RRW fan favourite Ben The Referee has stepped up to the plate, looking to pick up a huge, upset victory over Rose, despite the odds being firmly stacked against Ben.

RRW Tag Team Championships Match – Hunter Hayes & Killa Kye vs. The Original Greasers (Robbie Zucco & Tristan Slade): Although they had a very heated confrontation at the Rock ‘n’ Rumble event in January, The Original Greasers’ manager Flame has proclaimed that they will, in fact, be in action this Saturday against RRW Tag Team Champions Hunter Hayes & Killa Kye, the latter of whom will heading off to America after the event, for the titles, even though there is plenty of uncertainty around whether the Greasers will show up at all, let alone be on the same page if they do.

Eric Fischer vs. Big Fudge: After being out of action for almost an entire year, Eric Fischer will return to Rock ‘n’ Roll Wrestling with a very tall task ahead of him, as he takes on Big Fudge.

Andrew Vega vs. The Tradie: Two of RRW‘s up and comers compete in a battle for much needed momentum, as Andrew Vega takes on The Tradie.

We Built This City may be taking place in a brand new venue for RRW, but it’s shaping up to provide the exact same level of action as all of their other events.

VICTORIA

Melbourne City Wrestling is back in 2025 with a gigantic event at the Thornbury Theatre this Saturday with Anniversary. For a celebration like no other, MCW has prepared a card like no other:

MCW World Heavyweight Championship Triple Threat Match – Ricky South (c) vs. Edward Dusk vs. Caveman Ugg: At Endgame in December, Caveman Ugg defeated Slex to become the MCW World Heavyweight Champion for the first time ever. Ugg would only get to enjoy the achievement for a few minutes before Ricky South cashed in his Ballroom Brawl title opportunity and, with the help of Slex, would end the night as the new champion. South now has quite a task ahead of him, as he is set to make his first title defense against the man who he practically stole the championship from, Caveman Ugg, and the man who actually defeated South earlier on in the night, Edward Dusk, in a Triple Threat match.

MCW InterCommonwealth Championship Match – Robbie Thorpe (c) vs. Adam Brooks: After accidentally costing fellow ICON$ stablemate Adam Brooks the OPW Heavyweight Championship and the MCW Tag Team Championships, Rocky Menero is looking to make it up to Adam Brooks and has offered him anything he wants as a favour. Brooks has chosen a shot at the MCW InterCommonwealth Champion and fellow member of The ICON$, Robbie Thorpe, a matchup that Thorpe has tried his hardest to get out of.

Six Man Elimination Scramble Match – Thirteen vs. Anth Cava vs. Kobe Reid vs. The Clydesdale vs. Owen Steadman vs. Luck O’Leary: MCW has seen an influx of fresh faces hitting the scene and MCW management has decided to give them all their moment to shine, as they compete against each other in an Elimination Scramble match.

Rocky Monero vs. Jarvis: The hungry youngster Jarvis looks to make a statement as he takes on the veteran Rocky Monero.

Erika Reid vs. Shay Kassidy: Having lost the MCW Women’s Championship to Eugenie at End Game, Erika Reid is on the road to redemption, with her journey towards a rematch with Eugenie beginning with a match against Shay Kassidy, who believes that she should hold the championship.

No. 1 Contender’s Tag Team Tournament First Round Match – Mitch Waterman & Ryan Rapid vs. The Natural Classics (Stevie & Tome Filip): The four team tournament to determine who will challenge The Parea for the MCW Tag Team Championships is set to kick off at Anniversary, with Mitch Waterman & Ryan Rapid taking on The Natural Classics.

MCW Anniversary is sure to be an absolutely unbelievable event that you cannot miss.

Professional Championship Wrestling is bringing yet another unforgettable event to the South Eastern Entertainment Centre this Saturday with Unrivalled. To be truly unforgettable, you need a card worthy of such a description, which Unrivalled definitely has:

PCW National Championship I Quit Match – “The Unrivaled” Lucas Daniels vs. Cass Stone (c): The True Champions implode! At Halloween Horror ’23, after 7 years as an inseparable unit, Jesse Daniels would turn on Cass Stone, during what was supposed to be a celebration of Stone’s decade long tenure in PCW, effectively putting an end to The True Champions. Following a loss to Stone’s team in a 5 on 5 Survivor Series match at Destiny ’23, as a loss to Stone in singles at Christmas Chaos ’23, Daniels would keep Stone in his periphery as he would have a new problem to deal with in the form of PCW President Ruby Raye. Meanwhile, Stone’s career would skyrocket, forming a brand-new incarnation of the True Champions, winning the 2024 PCW Royal Rumble & eventually capturing the PCW National Championship. One year after their falling out, Stone & Daniels would meet again in another 5 on 5 Survivor match at Destiny ’24, this time with Daniels walking away victorious. Unfortunately, at Christmas Chaos ’24, Daniels could not pick up the victory against Stone in singles action. However, Daniels will get one more shot at his former partner Cass Stone at Unrivalled, this time in an I Quit match for the PCW National Championship.

PCW Tag Team Championships Match – The Black Diamonds (Jason Blade & Seth Tanner) (c) vs. The Marauders (Sean & Matt): Following a nefarious conclusion to their contest at Risk last month, The Marauders and The Black Diamonds will meet again, in a rematch for the Diamonds’ championships.

“The DIfference” Trikki vs. Anthony Dangerfield: Following his heinous actions at Risk, that have taken James Sly Silver out of action indefinitely, Anthony Dangerfield will step into the ring with Trikki, who makes his return to the ring and looks for a measure of revenge on Dangerfield after he made an attempt to injure Trikki while attacking Silver.

SIx Man Tag Team Match – Orion Mencin & B-Squared (PJ Redd & L Deezy) vs. Nemesis (Ross Winter, Sean Cruise & Maverick Walker): At Risk, B-Squared managed to pick up a huge victory against Nemesis. The trio would not take this loss lightly, as they would attack B-Squared and PCW SLAM Champion Orion Mencin at SLAM last week. Not wanting to take this assault lying down, Mencin & B-Squared have challenged Nemesis to a Six Man Tag Team match at Unrivalled.

With so many personal vendettas all looking to be taken out on one show, Unrivalled will truly be a night like no other for PCW.

Alpha Tag Team Championships Triple Threat Match – The Physicals (Jimmy Castle & Johnny Jetts) (c) vs. The Glow Up (Rochelle Rogue & Charlie Rose) vs. Lockie & Elaine Hope: Following their dreadful actions at both Energy XIII and Purpose, new APW Tag Team Champions, The Physicals, are being forced to defend their newly won titles against two teams that were handpicked by APW Commissioner DPC & Energy Commissioner Jem Stone, those two teams being The Glow Up and the team of Lockie & Elaine Hope.

Bison vs. Adam Crowe: The Crowe brothers turned their backs on Bison, who now seeks vengeance on the brothers and, with Emilio occupied with the Energy Cup match, it starts with a non-title contest against Melbourne Openweight Champion, Adam Crowe.

Mason Stoneheart vs. Alex Winchester: A grudge match has been set for Thursday Night Fights, as Stoneheart & Winchester will compete in singles action once again, with Winchester on the lookout for Stoneheart’s cheeky pocket sand.

Alpha Tag Team Championships Match – The Fantastics (Jimmy Catle & Johnny Jetts) (c) vs. The Oner Bros (Billy & Gordy Oner): The Fantastics have got their work cut out for them as tag champs, as they will be making their second title defense, just two days after their first, against The Oner Bros, who plan on pulling out a big win and walking out of the Pipeworks Market as champions.

Code of Honour (Mitch Connors & Magnus Kolbeck) vs. Standardised Paradox (Inmate 211 & Josh Redfield): Two of Alpha‘s fan favourite tag teams will collide, as Code of Honour takes on Standardised Paradox.

Doomslayer vs. Mason Stoneheart: Doomslayer is back on Energy and plans on picking up a win against the wily Mason Stoneheart.

Head on down to the Pipeworks Market for a fun afternoon of wrestling in Energy XIV, then stick around for the main event later that night.

Alpha Pro Wrestling will be capping off an incredibly busy weekend at the Pipeworks Market on Saturday Night with Headstrong. Alpha looks to end the weekend with a bang and they’ve got the card to do it:

Alpha World Heavyweight Championship Last Man Standing Match – Mike Kaos (c) vs. Manu “2Krayzee” Pelman: The ongoing war between Alpha World Heavyweight Champion Mike Kaos and The Protocol looks to reach its conclusion, as Kaos once again defends his title against 2Krayzee once again in a Last Man Standing, with the added stipulation that, if Kaos retains the title, then NO members of The Patrol will be able to challenge for the title ever again!

Pick Your Poison Match – Slade Mercer vs. Cousin Ali & Miss Fortune vs. Jay Hunter: Ahead of their clash at All Or Nothing 2, Miss Fortune challenged Slade Mercer to a Pick Your Poison match at Headstrong, in which Mercer and Fortune would each choose an opponent for the other to wrestle. The challenge would be accepted and Fortune would choose everybody’s favourite cousin, Cousin Ali as Mercer’s opponent for this Saturday. In strategic retaliation, Mercer would choose a man who has already defeated Miss Fortune before, “The Juggernaut” Jay Hunter”, as her opponent.

Melbourne Openweight Championship Match – Adam Crowe (c) vs. Mitcho: Despite using questionable means, Adam Crowe walked out of Purpose as the new Melbourne Openweight Champion. The celebration wouldn’t last very long, as Alpha‘s resident Tradie Mitcho would make his return and challenge Crowe to a match for the title at Headstrong!

Wil Walker vs. Johnny Del Rocco: Two men who are still reeling from completely different incidents at Purpose will go one on one as Walker tries to move past the break up of CGS against Johnny Del Rocco, who will try to shake off the assault from Mitcho.

APPEARING LIVE: The Oner Bros and B-Squared are also set to make live appearances at Headstrong this Saturday.

A truly amazing night of action and a huge way to end the weekend is in store for the Alpha Nation with Headstrong.
