TASMANIA

Tasmanian Championship Wrestling is bringing their landmark Annihilation XII event to the Elphin Sports Centre in Launceston this Saturday, with a truly unforgettable card set for the night. Having won the Jokers Wild fatal four way match last August, Aaron Lynch declared that he would cash in his TCW Championship opportunity against champion Andy Rhodes at Annihilation, although a brutal con-chair-to from Rhodes to Lynch has left some uncertainty surrounding the bout. The North ESK Championship will also be defended as champion Jaxon Parker, who has been on an incredible run with the championship, looks for revenge and to defend the title against Elliot Grayson, alongside his newfound Two Kings partner, Breakout Rumble winner James Wrecks.
After months and months of heinous beatdowns on Eddie Jones, Ascendancy (Liam Lacey, JJ Storm & Chase Austin) will be forced to wrestle him on even ground, as the newly formed The Bald & The Beardiful (Eddie Jones, Dylan Daniels & Zakk Archer) will take on Ascendancy in a six man tag team match. This event will also see James Wrecks take on the returning Diablo, as well as Deano, who looks to rebuild lost momentum, takes on Axel Strife.
Annihilation will be the ultimate culmination of the past year of TCW events, which must be seen live.

In between their tour, ASWA is also holding their fourth annual Survival of the Fittest event, which of course features the 20-Man Over The Top Rumble for a shot at the ASWA Heavyweight Championship. The announced participants of this matchup include the likes of Christian Auciello, Alex Box, Andrew Vega, Cesar & former NXT star Daniel Vidot. The champion that will face the winner of the rumble will also be decided as, following a controversial ending to the fatal four way match for the ASWA Heavyweight Championship at Summer Heat Tour Night 1, Austin Aries will take on champion Keegan Brettle in singles action for the title.
A six man tag team match is also set to take place, as Daniel Vidot, Alex Box & Dancin’ Dave Matthews team up against Wes Williams, Jimmy Zero & Jay Law, with the winning team each getting to pick their numbers in the over the top rumble later that night. There will also be regular (or perhaps irregular in this case) tag team action as Sam Cannon & The Puppeteer, alongside Pierre Laurent, who looks to hold this pairing together, will defend their ASWA Tag Team Championships against The Belief (Johnny Starr & The Buccaneer), who look to reclaim the very titles that Cannon & Puppeteer took from them.
This event will also feature some pre show festivities starting from 5:30 pm, including a meet & greet with Austin Aries, a group photo inside the ASWA ring, Alex Box hosting interviews for Austin Aries, Keegan Brettle and other ASWA stars, as well as two exclusive matchups, the first being a rematch from last year between Cesar & Scott Justice and the second being a triple threat between Christian Auciello, Morgan Rose & Andrew Vega.
Survival of the Fittest is one of ASWA‘s biggest events of the year and it’s well worth grabbing tickets for.

International Wrestling Australia is coming in hot at the Dee Why RSL this Friday for Suplex On The Sand 5. The fifth edition of this event is already shaping up to be just as good as the previous four, with an Australian Heavyweight Championship match set to take place between two friends in champion Jimmy Townsend, who looks to add a 27th title defense to his iconic title reign, and The Tuckman, a man who was there when Townsend won the title and even helped him retain it at one point. From current friends to former, “Golden Boot” Jackson Kelly makes his return to IWA, forming an uneasy alliance with very man who retired him, Randal, to take on North Shore Wrestling, his former allies who shockingly turned on him after losing his career vs. career match.
The Dropouts will also be represented in an IWA Trans Tasman Championship match, as Scott Green defends the championship against ACT’s own Dan Archer, in the first of two matches that could see The Dropouts walking out with all the gold in IWA. A battle of father and son is also set to take place as Robbie Zucco makes his IWA return & seeks retribution against his own son Vinnie Vain.
