Brisbane Broncos To Hit Rock N’ Roll Wrestling in QLD This February

With AEW Grand Slam Australia hitting our shores on February 15th, Aussie wrestling is looking to put its best foot forward with a lot of potential new eyes on the local scene, with several events taking place across that weekend. This includes Rock N’ Roll Wrestling, a NSW-based promotion making its QLD debut with a show at the Caxton Hotel on Valentine’s Day (or, as us non-romantics call it, Grand Slam Eve).

On February 14th, former WWE Superstar Xyon Quinn joins the RNR roster, with Rock N Roll Champion Moses in his sights. But he’s not coming alone. Before tearing down opponents in WWE/NXT rings, Xyon was known as Daniel Vidot, a NRL standout who played for the Brisbane Broncos. After Moses laid down a tag team challenge to Xyon, enlisting the help of “The Grub” Otis (#67 in the PWDU Top 80 2024), the former WWE star returned to his football roots to look for a partner.

In a video posted to Instagram, Xyon Quinn pondered out loud who he could pick to team with him to face Moses & Otis at the Caxton. In an amazing bit of coincidence, former Brisbane Broncos captain Alex Glenn walked into frame. This “gave Xyon an idea”, setting up an explosive tag team where NRL legends take on Rock N’ Roll Wrestling’s best.

Alex Glenn joined the Broncos in 2009. He made history in the 2011 NRL season, becoming the youngest ever Brisbane Broncos captain at the age of 22 with Darren Lockyer being absent. He would again assume captaincy before retiring in 2021, having played 282 games for the club. While Glenn would be making his pro wrestling debut in this potential team with Xyon Quinn, he clearly has the athletic credentials to serve him well in a transition to the squared circle.

Tickets for Rock N Roll Wrestling at the Caxton Hotel on February 14th are available at rockandrollwrestling.com. In addition to the seeming clash between the Broncos and the RNR standouts, we also have a Caxton Street Fight between Lachy The Tradie and Morgan Rose (#43 in the PWDU Top 80 2024), and a Battle Royal for the Caxton Cup.
