AEW Rookie shock win for Australian Title Shot
On AEW Dynamite- Maximum Carnage the Women’s roster got their own version of the Gauntlet Match to determine who would go on to Grand Slam Australia to face the Women’s World Champion, Mariah May.
Much like the men’s version of the gauntlet match the rules are simple. 2 will start with no set time before the next contender enters the match. There are no set numbers, and one fall ends it all.
In the match where we saw the likes of Kris Statlander, Jamie Hayter, Megan Bayne, Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron, the rookie Toni Storm shined as she delivered multiple snapmares to the women as the crowd cheered on with “she’s a rookie” chants.
Toni has managed to capture the hearts of the fans in such a short period since her debut in AEW just under a month ago.
We here at PWDU look forward to cheering on our local girl as she looks to capture her very first championship in AEW on her home soil.
