Mike Quackenbush Returns To Australia For APW
This April, Mike Quackenbush returns to Australia. The former WWE trainer and Chikara founder will be hosting a week long training seminar, along with a wrestling appearance for Alpha Pro Wrestling in Victoria. Quackenbush first announced on his Instagram page that he’d be heading Down Under as part of his Til We Make It tour, listing the dates as 6th April-12th April.
The week of training at Alpha Pro Wrestling’s “Monster Lab” will be capped off with Mike stepping in the ring for a match on April 12.
Quackenbush is a highly experienced pro wrestler, with a 30 year career on the independent circuit which saw him win titles such as NWA’s and CZW’s World Junior Heavyweight Championship. He worked for WWE in a coaching capacity in 2016 and 2018, in addition to assisting with production. Needless to say, he has a wealth of knowledge to pass on to any aspiring wrestlers.
Mike Quackenbush last appeared in Australia in 2019, wrestling for PWA in Sydney on the aptly-named “Quack To The Future” show at the Crowbar. Teaming with Velocities members Mat Diamond and Paris De Silva, Quack defeated Nations members Jack Bonza, Jessica Troy and Adam Hoffman in a six person tag.
Launching in 2007, Alpha Pro Wrestling is certainly a tenured promotion on the Victorian wrestling scene. featuring performers such as Slade Mercer, Jayson Krash, Kobe Reid and Will Walker, the APW action is overseen by commisioners DPC and the incomparable Jem Stone. They have put out a consistent run of shows over the past couple of years since their Revival event in late 2023, and look to continue that momentum with special guests like Quack rolling into 2025.
A man who loves his wrestling, MMA, and has been known to dabble in karaoke. Previously wrote for Snap Mayors Media and ran The Arena Media for several years. As many wrestling fans do, I often envisioned myself becoming a pro wrestling superstar, but having Cerebral Palsy makes that dream a tough one to attain. Did do a brief referee spot for Rock N Roll Wrestling and I’d love to do more non-wrestler roles if laying the Smackdown is out of my reach, but until then, I’ll be hitting you with some refreshing writing like an F5!
