Former WWE Star Brian Kendrick Set To Return To Australia at MXW Event
As we enter the New Year, promotions are beginning to put the pieces in play for a big 2025. Among them is regional Victorian promotion MXW, who are putting on a 2 night event from Feb 28 to Mar 1 titled Wrestlefest. The Feb 28 show is at Sunbury Memorial Hall, while Mar 1’s show goes down at Geelong West Town Hall.
An event of a larger than typical scale needs big stars, and MXW are providing, as former WWE star Brian Kendrick is advertised for both nights at Wrestlefest. The opponents are yet to be announced, although a graphic posted to MXW socials, reading “Brian Kendrick vs. ???” would seem to suggest that Kendrick will be competing in singles matches.
Brian Kendrick last wrestled in Australia almost a year ago, at All-Star Wrestling’s event Survival of the Fittest, where he lost a ASWA Championship match to fellow WWE alum Orlando Jordan. The 45 year old Kendrick is best known for his 331 day WWE Tag Team Championship reign with Paul London in the mid 2000s, and he also briefly won the WWE Cruiserweight Championship in 2016. He is an accomplished, world-travelled competitor who has also enjoyed stints in ROH, TNA, NJPW and various independent promotions across the world.
Tickets to MXW’s Wrestlefest are still available (link in the embedded tweet).
A man who loves his wrestling, MMA, and has been known to dabble in karaoke. Previously wrote for Snap Mayors Media and ran The Arena Media for several years. As many wrestling fans do, I often envisioned myself becoming a pro wrestling superstar, but having Cerebral Palsy makes that dream a tough one to attain. Did do a brief referee spot for Rock N Roll Wrestling and I’d love to do more non-wrestler roles if laying the Smackdown is out of my reach, but until then, I’ll be hitting you with some refreshing writing like an F5!
