Aussies Abroad: Aussie powerhouse makes grand debut and Fletcher shocks the world

Welcome back to another week’s installment of Aussies Abroad, where we follow the Aussies kicking ass in the world of overseas Pro-Wrestling.

Let’s start this week’s coverage off with the shocking events that went down in AEW last week with young Aussie legend Kyle Fletcher after he cost his friend Will Ospreay the International title earlier this month at WrestleDream. The quickly turned heel spoke to the crowd during Dynamite, claiming that he was offended by constantly being compared to Ospreay and was hurt by his actions at New Japan. Fletcher called on Will to show up to a match this week on the Fright Night edition of Dynamite, before grabbing a pair of razors and shaving his head to further prove his point.

Also over in AEW, New Zealand favorite Jay White has been kicking ass in the ring since his return a few weeks ago. Collision saw White defeating Shane Taylor following his ongoing feud with Adam Page. The match saw a lot of back-and-forth aggression between the two men before Lee Moriarty got involved and helped Taylor land some illegal hits while the ref was distracted. White though was able to rally back with a flurry of moves, including a nasty DDT later in the match. It was eventually a blade runner that got White the win. White also took the time to call out Hangman after the win, saying “Despite the year that you’ve had, Hangman, you’re still hellbent on coming after me. Is that because despite how tough and good Hangman is supposed to be, at every little bend of our careers, I’ve always been ahead of you, Hangman.” ” I’m going to give you the chance for redemption. Meanwhile, the House of Black with Aussie favorite Buddy Matthews has been continuing its path of destruction, picking up a defeat against Jadan Monrow, Kevin Koa, and Pirata de la Muerte. The match didn’t last too long at all, with HOB completely dominating the entire match. It was a massive stomp from Matthews after an onslaught of hits that saw the faction pick up the win.

AEW star Toni Storm has been bringing her talents across the world lately after her feud with Mariah May earlier this year. Last week saw her kicking ass in Mexico, with a match against La Catalina at CMLL Super Viernes. The semi-main event Mexican debut saw an impressive match-up between the women, but it was eventually a top rope splash that saw Catalina put Storm down for a clean three count. After the match, Storm cut a promo vowing to return to the promotion.

Aussie AEW star Harley Cameron has also been appearing in a number of promotions with matches. The BTWN 28th anniversary show saw Cameron pick up a win against Lalia Grey and Sandra Moone. Unfortunately, Cameron lost a match in MLP against Kylie Rae and Miyu Yamashita.

Over in WWE, Rhea Ripley has continued her onslaught of attacks on Women’s Champion Liv Morgan, the newly returned Raquel Rodriguez, ‘Dirty’ Dominick Mysterio, and the new Budget Day scums. Last week’s RAW saw Ripley interrupt a promo to finally lay hands on Rodirguez before running after and absolutely destroying Morgan. Her brutality was unfortunately cut short by the arrival of Mysterio, which turned out to be a very bad decision on his part. Ripley absolutely ripped him to shreds in the ring, holding him in an intense submission lock before Morgan and Raquel dragged him to safety. Ripley watched the trio walk off with fire in her eyes, and clearly excited to get her claws back in them.

Meanwhile, Aussie favorite Indi Hartwell didn’t see too much luck over in SmackDown, with her partner Candice LeRae seeing defeat in a match against Naomi. Despite her best efforts to get involved and bring Naomi down a peg, Bayley came into the match and took down Hartwell, which led to a win for Naomi.

Over in Japan, Robbie Eagles, along with his TMDK teammates, had a match with the Bullet Club War Dogs at NJPW. Unfortunately, the Aussie failed to pick up another win at the Super Junior Tag League for this year. TMDK’s Shane Haste has also continued to kick us in Japan, recently winning a match against Hiroshi Tanahashi and Tomohiro Ishii. Adelaide powerhouse Kira Summer has also continued her wrestling story in Japan with TJPW. Summer recently picked up a massive win over Shino Suzuki in the first round of this year’s Next Generation Tournament. Although she unfortunately lost the following match against Arisu Endo and Toga, the Adelaide and wider Aussie crowd is still standing strong behind her.

Speaking of Adelaide powerhouses, the one and only Zaria (previously known as DELTA) officially made her NXT debut last week in style. The former RCW champ is set to have her in-ring debut later today at Halloween Havoc, and we cannot wait to see her absolutely destroy the locker room.

Till next week!
