Our Top Moments From AEW WrestleDream

Hello, I’m Scott aka RAZ. I’ve been an avid wrestling fan for over 30 years and have dabbled in both the world or pro wrestling and music. Previously commentated for Iron Fist Pro in South Australia, I now focus on more of the mainstream wrestling and run a few shows on YouTube where I breakdown the most recent happenings. Glad to be part of the team here at PWdownunder.com.

WrestleDream’s Wild Ride Top moments from AEW’s Latest PPV

1 –  Fashion Returns To Wrestling

In 2024 after 20 years of living in obscurity and slumming in the streets of Paris. The number one fashion icon RICO has made his triumphant return to our screens alongside his proteges in MXM.

2 – Family? What is it good for?

After learning this past week that Don Callis sent Takeshita to interrupt the International Title match with Ricochet. A crazy ending came about when Will Ospreay’s brother from another mother Kyle Fletcher, cost Will his International Title and handed it to Takeshita. Kyle turned his back on the man who housed him during the pandemic and sealed his fate with an absolutely brutal Tiger Driver 91 on his former stablemate ending the United Empire.

3 – It’s All About The ….

After a successful defense of his TNT Title in a strong match against Shibata, Jack Perry was laying a beatdown and was confronted by Daniel Garcia. After Jack left the ring, the Tacoma Dome erupted when MJF’s music hit and out came everyone’s favourite scumbag. MJF enters the ring and Garcia gets up in his face only to get taken down by Perry with a TNT Title to the back of the head. MJF then proceeds to lay into Garcia and in usual MJF style is having some banter with the crowd. Just when everyone thought the MJF was going to destroy Garcia with the Dynamite Diamond Ring – BOOM – Adam Cole makes his return to the company and runs MJF out of the ring saving Garcia.

4 – Swerve Makes his choice

Whose house? SWERVES HOUSE! Tacoma let it be known that Swerve came home. Not only that he made his choice tonight. He reminisced over his past with MVP and the history they shared, He told us a story of how without Prince Nana he wouldn’t have the things he has. In turn he made his choice and stood his ground against MVP and Shelton Benjamin.

5 – Final Nail In The Coffin?

After 7 matches in their AEW careers, Brody King & Darby Allin decided one more time to step into the ring and set it all on the line. As per usual, Brody’s size completely dominated Darby and it took some extreme measures for the end to come to this rivalry. Darby gets the win after hitting a Coffin Drop on to Brody on the steel steps. However it was the actions after the match that left people questioning the Black Kings presence.

6 – Emotional Endings

After an amazing rollercoaster of a PPV, we are finally here. Jon Moxley vs Bryan Danielson for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship.

We didn’t even get a proper start to the match in the first few minutes as Final Countdown rang through the speakers. Moxley takes his attack right to Danielson before he can even get in the ring leading to a wild brawl on the outside. Moxley introduces a monitor cable into the assault and chokes out Bryan only for Bryan to hit Mox in the head with a microphone and then choke Mox with the cable. During this Marina makes her presence felt by jumping on the back of Bryan only to get flipped by Bryan.

After the brawl outside the ring, Mox tries to bring a chair into the ring only for Danielson to take it right to his face with a knee.

After a grueling 25 minutes of back and forth combat, Moxley locks in a choke and secures his 4th AEW World Championship reign.

7 – BCC preparing for war

After the match, the BCC hit the ring but Yuta and Darby enter the ring to make the save…. Or so we thought. Yuta takes Darby out with a massive knee to the face and PAC and Marina tape Darby to the ring ropes.

Moxley hands Yuta the plastic bag and he places it over the head of Bryan choking him out like Moxley did at the end of ALL OUT.

Private Party and Jeff Jarrett attempt to make the save for Bryan and Darby but are taken out by Mox and PAC.  Meanwhile in the ring Claudio secures Danielson’s head into a steel chair and then stomps him in the center of the ring.

The faces of AEW come out and and run off the BCC leaving us all wondering what we just saw and did we just really witness the murder of Bryan Danielson once again live on PPV.

The PPV ends with us watching on as the medical staff are tending to a fallen Bryan.
