This week Raw continued their journey to Bad Blood while having plenty of segments and matches apart from the PLE.  Bronson Reed and Braun Strowman continue to try and end each other as there’s also some tag team action in the men’s and women’s divisions. Rhea makes an announcement for her match against Liv at Bad Blood while Jey Uso and Bron Breakker meet in a match for the Intercontinental Championship.

Rhea’s Announcement

The opening of RAW this week had Liv Morgan and Dominic Mysterio show up in a Lucha Low Rider as they made their way into the arena and down to the ring. Liv would start by bragging about how well the Liv Morgan revenge tour was going until Rhea Ripley would interrupt promising not to hit Liv. Liv wasn’t overly interested in what Rhea had to say as she hoped Rhea was too injured to compete and say that she was smarter than Rhea. Rhea Ripley would let Liv know that she is medically cleared to compete at Bad Blood and then announce that Dominic Mysterio will be unable to interfere during the match as he will be in a shark cage suspended above the ring. This could change the potential outcome of the match, with Rhea’s injury looking to get better and Dominic Mysterio not being able to interfere. It does make Rhea’s chances look better, but it could still go to either woman.

Ludwig Kaiser VS Sami Zayn

Sami and Kaiser would have the first match of the night after their encounter in the ring last week with Gunther. The match would start with some dirty shots taken with Kaiser shoving Sami and Sami retaliating by throwing his shirt at Kaiser. Ludwig Kaiser would be able to dominate most of the match as he would kick Sami’s head into the stairs and attempt multiple pins. It wouldn’t be enough though as Sami Zayn would turn things around with a suplex that set him up for a Helluva kick which allowed Sami to win the match. Gunther would then come out to address Sami Zayn’s challenges and would once again deny Sami Zayn a title match.

Miz VS Bronson Reed

In a backstage segment, Karrion Kross would hype up the Miz for his match against Big Bronson Reed as he’d tell him to remember who he was. Miz would go out ready for the match, but Braun Strowman would attack Bronson Reed before the match had started making for a no-contest. The Miz would try and get involved but would soon find himself at the bottom of a suicide dive by Bronson Reed alongside Braun Strowman. Braun and Bronson would continue to battle as they would take out security to try and get to each other. The security finally managed to separate the two as Bronson Reed walked away. Later in the night, Adam Pearce would announce that the two will face each other on next week’s show in a last monster standing match which should see the end of this feud as hopefully Bronson Reed can pick up the win and prepare to face a potentially returning Seth Rollins soon.

Damage CTRL vs Unholy Union

The Unholy Union would look to regain momentum against Damage CTRL in a tag match but with Damage CTRL on a hot streak right now that task seemed to be too hard for them to reach. With Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill congratulating Iyo Sky on her win last week before the match and Iyo and Kairi Sane both having eyes for the tag titles they were ready to go out hard tonight. Damage CTRL would win the match with Kairi Sane doing an Insane Elbow out of the ring onto Alba Fyre as Iyo Sky would Moonsault onto Isla Dawn to get the pin. Once again Iyo Sky put on an amazing show as it looks like Damage CTRL like they will be getting a shot at the tag titles against Jade and Biance.

Creed Brothers VS New Day

Earlier in the show Kofi Kingston would allow Xavier Woods to call the shots which would see them get into an encounter with American Made which led to this match. With the New Day looking to go back to their title-winning ways they tried to give it their all, but it was the Creed Brothers who would dominate in this match thanks to help from Chad Gable interfering. Gable would interfere one too many times though and set off Xavier Woods who would bring Gable into the ring as he would try and take Gable out. This would work as a distraction for the Creed Brothers as the match would break out into chaos which would soon see the Creed Brothers set up the Brutus Ball onto Xavier Woods as they would win the match. Later in the night, the LWO would be shown apologising to Xavier Woods about last week, but Woods would once again lose his temper and challenge Rey Mysterio to a match next week.

Other Highlight’s:

  • Dragon Lee beat Carlito with the help of the LWO
  • Drew promises to Break CM Punk permanently at Bad Blood

Bron Breakker VS Jey Uso

The main event of the show was between Jey Uso and Bron Breakker as Jey looked to win his first singles gold in the WWE. With the crowd behind him, Jey would get off to a strong start, but it wouldn’t take long until Bron Breakker would start to overpower Jey to gain momentum. Jey would slowly work his way back into the match until Bron had him set up for a running spear that Jey was able to counter with a spear of his own. Jey would follow up with a Uso Splash, but Breakker was able to kick out as Jey ended up on the outside of the ring. Bron Breakker had him lined up for another spear, but Jey would Super Kick Breakker and follow it up with a spear into the timekeeper’s area. Jey would drag Bron back into the ring as he hit the Uso Splash one more time Jey Uso would win the Intercontinental Championship making it his first singles gold in the WWE.

It was another good show by Raw with plenty of story progression and some great matches. Xavier Woods continues to build towards a potential turn as the New Day’s 10th anniversary approaches and the next challengers for the women’s tag title Damage CTRL continue to show what they can do. Jey Uso being able to win the Intercontinental Championship was an interesting decision but we’ll have to see how things play out with a last monster standing match next week between Bronson Reed and Braun Strowman, RAW will be a must-watch before they head to Bad Blood.
