ALL ELITE WEEKLY (5/9/24-14/9/24)

Welcome back to All Elite Weekly the series where we recap the Major moments from the past week of AEW TV programming so this week you will be up to date just in case you missed anything. 

This week was the go home show for All Out so it was all about setting up the last few matches on the card and upping the stakes of ongoing storylines.

DYNAMITE

MJF and Daniel Garcia open the show 

Garcia enters the ring and calls out MJF saying he can not wait for All Out and wants MJF now. 

It is then revealed that MJF is in the crowd, MJF denies Garcia the chance to fight him at Dynamite. 

Garcia then calls MJF a liar and a fake and points out fake aspects about MJF including his “Fake Love” for AEW. 

Garcia continues to berate MJF for a number of minutes MJF then claims that he still has more to learn and claims when he attacked him he was trying to help him as he felt he needed to learn not to trust anyone. He then further attacks Garcia until it’s too much for him Garcia then sprints through the crowd to get to MJF. 

After getting through a large number of security MJF glassed him, MJF then sits next to a now bleeding Garcia and thanks him for awakening something deep inside MJF. 

NJF then kisses MJF’s bloody forehead and then leaves the arena. 

Kyle Fletcher VS Okada(C) – Continental Title match 

An extremely close title match where Kyle Fletcher dealt most of the offence but in the closing moments of the match Okada hit a low blow on Fletcher as the referee was distracted enabling him to defend his championship. 

Konosuke Takeshita comes out after the match and Takeshita and Okada stare down as Takeshita has a chance to get into the Continental Championship Four way at All out during Collision. 

Swerve Buys his childhood home

In a quick segment shot before the show it shows Swerve buying his childhood home and he tells the story of how his family lost it when he was a kid. 

Mariah May(C) VS Nyla Rose – AEW Women’s World Championship Match

May made her first defence against Rose in a dominant performance she then celebrated in the ring in the same way Toni Storm used to. 

Swerve Strickland and Adam Page contract Signing 

Swerve enters the ring and takes a seat at the table. Page’s music then plays but Pages is nowhere to be seen, the music then plays again and Page still does not enter the arena the broadcast team and Swerve are confused by this. 

Then Page appears on the screen and says that the contract signing is silly as they both know that he will be there at All Out. 

Page then reveals that he is located in the house that Swerve was seen buying earlier in the show. Swerve is then shown being frantic in the ring and whilst Page speaks you can hear him pouring a liquid around the house. Page then says that last week Swerve gave him a choice between vengeance and peace, Page then claims that he chooses vengeance and refers to a line he said earlier in their feud about Page burning everything Swerve loves. 

As Page is saying goodbye and telling Swerve what he will lose at All In he lights a match and throws it on the ground Swerve’s childhood home then goes up in flames behind him Swerve is then seen crying in the ring. 

COLLISION

 Mark Briscoe VS Lance Archer- Continental Contender Challenge

As Briscoe is making his entrance Archer runs him down and brutally attacks him leaving Briscoe covered in blood, then with the help of a steel chair Briscoe begins to get the upper hand . 

 Brisoce eventually got the victory after hitting multiple flying elbows meaning at All Out he got a place in the Continental fourway 

Orange Cassidy VS Bryan Keith –  Continental Contender Challenge

Cassidy and Keith have a close battle with Keith being able to counter most of Cassidy’s strikes but after getting hit by an unexpected Orange Punch Cassidy was able to get the victory. 

Konosuke Takeshita VS The Beast Mortos –  Continental Contender Challenge 

Takeshita claimed the final spot in the Continental Fourway after hitting the Raging fire on Mortos. 

Takeshita celebrates in the ring with Don Callis. 

 BCC VS The Elite 

In a 8 man tag match with the two most dominant factions in AEW facing off the two groups go back and forth. 

Eventually through the team work of Yuta and Castignoli they get the win meaning they got a shot at the Young Bucks tag titles.
