Bret Hart Returns to RAW in Calgary
Bret the Hitman Hart would return to the WWE on the Season Premiere of RAW in his hometown of Calgary to make a special announcement. Joe Tessitore announced that Survivor Series will be coming to Vancouver on the 30th of November this year.
Bret Hart would then talk about what it means to be a Champion, particularly a Canadian Champion. He’d talk about how being a champion is about taking on anybody and never ducking anyone to prove themselves and that’s why he is the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be.
To this The Ring General Gunther would come out and tell Bret that this moment feels like a passing of the torch as Gunther is now the best there is and the best there ever will be. He’d then tell Bret that he was his second favorite wrestler growing up as Gunther’s favorite wrestler is Bill Goldberg.
Sami Zayn could no longer listen so he came out to the ring to warn Gunther about insulting Bret Hart as he is a Canadian hero and a hero to Sami. Returning to the championship Sami would say that Bret defined what it meant to be a champion as Sami Zayn would bring up Gunther ducking him as he would attempt to challenge Gunther once more. Gunther would tell both Bret and Sami that they are both out of his league as once again Gunther would reject Sami.
Bret Hart would then call Gunther a coward resulting in a brawl between Gunther and Sami as he would once again get the better of Gunther. At this, Sami Zayn would acknowledge Bret Hart in the ring.
That wouldn’t be all for the Hart family tonight as Natalya would make her return to the ring to help Lyra Valkyria and Zelina Vega beat Pure Fusion Collective as she would meet with Bret in a backstage segment. Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston would also reference Bret in a segment where Woods’ was wearing Bret Hart-style sunglasses.
The last time we saw Bret Hart at a WWE event was in September 2022 when he sat ringside to watch Clash at the Castle which took place in Cardiff, Wales.
