ALL ELITE WEEKLY (26/8/24-1/9/24)

Welcome to ALL ELITE WEEKLY the weekly series where we recap all the AEW TV programming that took place to get you caught up for this week’s Dynamite and Collision. 

As  the All in PPV took place last week this week’s programming dealt with the fallout of the event, but this week also had a lot of new matches and feuds to set up ss AEW’s next PPV All Out is only two weeks away. 

DYNAMITE

Jon Moxley Makes a Surprise Appearance 

Moxley’s music hits to the surprise of the broadcast team, he makes his way to  the ring for the first time in two months. 

Moxley says he has been doing a lot of talking in his absence and  says that Darby Allin needs to have a conversation with him. 

As he is about to leave the ring he points at Schiavone and says “This is not your company anymore” he then leaves the ring leaving everyone confused. 

Adam Page VS Ishii

The duo go back and forth with hard hitting strikes to open the bout with neither going down, eventually Ishii begins to get worn out and Page gets the upper hand. Eventually Page is able to hit the Buckshot Lariat and put Ishii away. 

As Page’s arm is being raised Swerve’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring. 

Swerve insults Page as he feels he lost his title because of Page’s interruption in his match. 

Page trades insults back and claims that Swerve could never beat him on his own. 

Page then challenges him to another match, Swerve suggests that everyone else should be locked out and says the match should be a steel cage match. 

Swerve then recounts his side of their rivalry and how he views Page, he then says that after their match at Revolution he went back to Page’s house and saw that his wife was giving birth to his second child and it’s what made him realise that Page is no longer his concern and the title. He then says it’s the opposite of Page who has only been focussed on Swerve since his return and how it’s ruining his career. 

Page storms out of the ring and Swerve’s music hits. 

Jamie Hayter VS Harley Cameron 

Hayter makes her return to Dynamite after being away from injury and easily defeats Cameron Saraya retreats from her rival Hayter as she celebrates in the ring. 

MJF Addresses his Loss at All In

MJF lists the injuries the tiger driver gave him. He then criticises the crowd for not cheering him and then he denounces America because of the lack of respect that the American crowds gave him. 

He then calls Ospreay a cheat and tells him that their rivalry is not over and that MJF is never going to let him win the world championship. 

He then turns his attention to the man that helped Ospreay win his title Daniel Garcia as he starts belittling him Garcia storms the ring and chokes out MJF. 

The security storms the ring and Garcia starts handling him as his back is turned MJF attacks Garcia. 

Garcia still gets the upper hand and manages to get MJF into position for a top rope piledriver. 

Security and Christopher Daniels manage to separate the two. 

Garcia then gets on the mic and says he pawned off his ring that he lost and that he spoke to Tony Khan and he made their match at All Out official. 

Security then carries MJF out of the arena. 

Ricochet VS Kyle Fletcher

This is Ricochet’s first appearance on AEW T after he debuted at All In. 

In an athletic and competitive match Ricochet got the victory after hitting the Vertigo.

As Ricochet celebrate Will Ospreay comes to the ring and looks like his about to challenge Ricochet, as he is about to speak PAC attacks Ospreay from behind he then ells Ospreay that he should worry about him first and then tells Ricochet to get to the back of the line. 

Moxley teaches a Lesson in Humility

In a backstage segment a cameraman follows Moxley and tries to ask him what his promo earlier was about. Moxley replies in a riddle and then turns to some backstage personnel who are attacked by Marina Shafir and then says they need a lesson in humility. 

Bryan Danilelson’s Next Challenger is Revealed 

Danielson talks about the match he had at All In and how he finally obtained the AEW World Heavyweight Championship, he says it was the best moment in his career. He then talks about how his contract has expired, how he needs neck surgery and how his family wants him home. 

He then begins to describe how important AEW is and says that he will not retire as long he is champion. He then turns his attention to All Out and offers an open challenge for anyone to come forward and ask for a shot at the title. 

He is interrupted by a live feed of Jack Perry, he talks about how he has paved his own path since his return and how he has beaten Danielson before he then claims that his future is behind him. 

Perry appears and attacks danielson and holds the championship in the air.  

 COLLISION

FTR Ambushed by The Grizzled Young Veterans 

After beating the Undisputed Kingdom the Grizzled Young Veterans who have just joined AEW attack FTR and talk about how they are always compared to FTR despite them thinking they are better they then claim that they will no longer live in FTR’s shadow. 

MXM Call out The House of Black

Buddy Matthews easily defeats Komander as he celebrates he is joined by Brody King. as the two stand in the ring they are interrupted by a live feed of MXM. 

They open their promo by calling Matthews a “Ugly bogan bastard” and they then claim that they are going to make the House of black the “House of Blacked”. They then challenge them to a “Friday night fashion fight”. 

Matthews accepts the challenge 

Hikaru Shida VS Serena Deeb VS Queen Aminata VS Thunder Rosa – Number one Contender Match for the TBS Championship 

The four women put up a fight with all the challengers getting close to winning the match. But it is ultimately won by Shida after she pinned Aminata. 

Meaning at All Out Shid will get a shot at Mone’s title.
