Tuesday Morning RAW
Raw: 12/08/2024
Channel: Foxtel WWE Channel/Kayo/Binge
With a week to cool down after Summer Slam, RAW would slow down a little this week as we start to see what Bash in Berlin could look like. Dominic Mysterio would finally explain himself this week and we also get to see the Terror Twins bring more pain to the new Judgement Day. There would also be some great matches with the Alpha Academy against American Made as well as the main event with Sami Zayn taking on Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental Championship.
Dom explains himself to Rhea
Rhea Ripley would be the first person to enter the ring tonight to call out Dominic Mysterio and the Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan. Dom and Liv who were too scared to come down to the ring would hide in the stands where Dom would explain that along with the chicken tendies he chose Liv so he could feel like a man instead of getting bossed around by his Mami. Liv would double down by bragging about how she has successfully taken everything away from Rhea. Liv and Dom would take too long talking though as Damian Priest would appear behind Dom and Liv as he would then attack Dominic. Rhea would chase Liv through the arena as Damian and Dom would come down to the ring, but Carlito would jump in saving Dom from further harm.
Damian Priest vs Carlito
The fallout from the previous segment would lead to a matchup between Damian Priest and Carlito. Carlito would be able to put on a surprisingly good showing in this match as he could match Priest’s power as he would have the advantage throughout the middle of the match. Priest would use his MMA skills to work his way back into the match as he would finish Carlito with a south-of-heaven choke slam which saw Damian Priest get the win. The new Judgement Day would storm the ring post-match to attack Priest, but Rhea would run out and take out the other members of the Judgement Day leaving only Finn Balor in the ring. JD McDonough would come to the rescue once again and take a bullet for Judgement Day leaving the terror twins to celebrate temporarily until Dominic Mysterio would fail to attack Rhea and Damian. Priest who had caught Dom in a choker hold would pass Dom to Rhea who would set up for a riptide but unfortunately, Liv Morgan would come and rescue Dominic. Once again, the Terror Twins would stand tall as their feud against the new Judgement Day continues to be one of the best storylines taking place in the WWE now. With the Terror Twins taking on Liv and Dom at Bash in Berlin it should be good to see them get the revenge they rightfully deserve.
Alpha Academy vs American Made
The Alpha Academy would have a chance at redemption as they would face the Creed Brothers once again in a Tornado Tag Team match. There would already be some interest before the match even started as the NXT North American Champion Oba Femi would be standing at the barricade where he would face off against Otis before his open challenge on NXT. The match itself was amazing to watch as the Alpha Academy would once again hold their own against American Made and even looked like winning at times with Otis doing a successful Caterpillar as Alpha Academy was able to keep momentum throughout most of the match. The Alpha Academy couldn’t get the job done though as Maxxine Dupri’s former tag team partner would betray her for the Creed Brothers leading to a distraction that allowed American Made to get the win. While it was unsurprising to see Ivy Nile join the Creed Brothers in American Made it’s still a good angle as we may be able to see Maxxine and Ivy battle later in this feud.
Randy Orton reminds everyone who he is
Randy Orton would start this segment by saying if he were able to beat Gunther at Bash in Berlin, he would become a 15-time world champion bringing him closer to the current record held by both Ric Flair and John Cena who are both at 16 world championship reigns. Gunther would come out and tell him he stands no chance as he considers Randy a waste of potential and declares that we are now in Gunther’s era. Randy would clap back by reminding everyone just how legendary he is, but Gunther would shut him down by calling Randy and his family screwups. At this Drew McIntyre would come out as if to challenge for the title when Randy would use the distraction to hit Gunther with an RKO when CM Punk would also come out to attack Drew McIntyre. In the interaction between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre, Drew would try to bring out his belt to use as a weapon until Punk would steal it and use it against him setting up a potential strap match between the two at Bash in Berlin. This segment showed once again why Gunther has the potential to become the top heel in WWE along with showing that the winner in McIntyre’s and Punk’s feud is likely to get a title shot.
Miz vs Bronson Reed
Earlier in the show R-Truth would try and cheer up the Miz who was upset due to their losing streak as of late by giving him a match for the Intercontinental title against Bron Breakker. However, Truth would get the wrong Bron and Miz would end up facing Big Bronson Reed who is on a hot streak now. Miz would get demolished by Bronson Reed in this match as Bronson would hit his signature Tsunami to end the Miz. Reed wasn’t done there as he wanted to make another statement, but R-Truth would make the mistake of saving Miz from facing another Tsunami. Bronson Reed would instead Tsunami R-Truth and after fighting through security and Adam Pearce he was able to hit another 6 Tsunamis on R-Truth. This moment felt vital for Bronson Reed to establish him as a true heel by making him target R-Truth who is beloved by WWE fans. Hopefully, Bronson Reed will be able to continue his path of destruction for the next couple of weeks so he can earn a real chance to prove himself.
Other Highlights:
- Bo Dallas explains the full circle and says that their work isn’t done
- Karrion Kross sees that Xavier Woods doesn’t like Odyssey Jones and challenges to a three-person tag match next week
- Pete Dunne explains his mad that he was little brothered and used by Sheamus
- Newly named Purely Fusion Collective challenge Damage CTRL in a number 1 contenders match which ends in a no-contest due to the champs interfering
Sami Zayn vs Bron Breakker
The main event of the show was Sami Zayn VS Bron Breakker in a 2 out of 3 falls match for the Intercontinental Championship. This match was great to watch as it was filled with so many different spots as Sami Zayn would score the first fall after hitting Breakker with a Helluva Kick. The battle would continue as Bron would take out Sami Zayn and the cameraman by throwing Sami over the barrier into the timekeepers area where he would score his first fall soon after by hitting Sami with two spears. After more insane moments Bron Breakker was able to score the third fall by spearing Sami Zayn in midair retaining the Intercontinental Championship in what was probably the greatest match in Sami and Bron’s feud.
This week’s show featured top-class matches, especially with the main event and American Made vs Alpha Academy. We also got to see more storyline progression as Dom explained why Rhea and Damian were betrayed by The Judgement Day. There were moments where the show seemed slow at times but with Bronson Reed and all the Judgement Day drama taking place, Raw does still feel like the best brand in the WWE right now.
