Tony Khan Considering Ring Of Honor Rebrand
AEW President Tony Khan has presented the idea that Ring Of Honor, of which he is the owner, may benefit from a rebrand to coincide with AEW branding in an attempt to help the company grow.
As things stand, Ring Of Honor’s weekly shows, available through a subscription service, are used primarily as a developmental territory of sorts to assess talent, as well as provide screen time for more established talent that aren’t featured on AEW’s weekly television programs.
At the ROH Death Before Dishonor media scrum on July 26th, Tony Khan would relate Ring Of Honor’s purpose to that of AEW’s defunct Dark and Dark: Elevation programs, while also standing tall as a stand-alone promotion with its own championships and fanbase.
Finally, Khan described his ideas on how to help grow Ring Of Honor into something bigger:
It’s really interesting what the promotion has grown into, but I’m really proud of it. I think ROH holds an important place. I recognize that AEW is at the very top of pro wrestling. The ROH brand could frankly benefit from even more association.
I don’t think it’s out of the question to say, and I don’t think it’s sacrilegious to say that it would only help grow the ROH brand if I were to license it, sublicense it, if it were AEW ROH.
I don’t think that’s a crazy thing and I don’t think it would be sacrilegious or bad. I think it would actually be good for everybody. Then I think people would see more of the connectivity that exists between promotions and what we’re going for.

There is also the opportunity to get Ring Of Honor back on weekly television with a deal alongside AEW programming, while negotiations are ongoing:
Ring of Honor could be televised in the Warner Brothers Discovery family. Would Ring of Honor frankly have a lot more value as AEW Ring of Honor? Yeah, probably it would. And I think I’ve come to that realization, as far as the presentation. That might mean a more cohesive absorption of the promotion into the fabric of what we’re already doing, but not in a way that would affect things.
