Backlash emanates from Lyon, France this year, and the fallout of WrestleMania is in full effect.
1. Undisputed WWE Championship
Cody Rhodes (c) vs AJ Styles
This is Cody’s first televised Championship defence and he has a great opponent in AJ Styles, who has been on another level since turning heel. AJ will a tournament to get this shot, beating LA Knight in the Final. I have Cody winning this and having a decent run with the WWE Championship.
Winner: Cody Rhodes
2. World Heavyweight Championship
Damian Priest (c) vs Jey Uso
Jey Uso has really come into his own since becoming a singles wrestler and the fact that he had gotten “YEET” over with the crowd is nothing short of amazing. Jey won a Fatal 4 Way for this opportunity at Damian Priest, who is another wrestler that has grown a lot, especially since joining Judgement Day. I have Damian having a good run as champion.
Winner: Damian Priest
3. WWE Women’s Championship
Bayley (c) vs Tiffany Stratton vs Naomi
You can thank Nia Jax for this being a triple threat match, as she interfered in the #1 Contenders match between Tiffany and Naomi, but I’m glad that Tiffany is getting time (pun possibly intented) to shine. Tiffany has seemed rather over with the fans since being called up to the main roster, and Naomi has been glowing (that pun was definitely intended) since returning to WWE. I still have Bayley walking out as champion.
Winner: Bayley
4. WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships
The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) (c) vs Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill
The team of Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill has been quite formidable since forming. Their first match together was at WrestleMania, in which they were successful against their opponents in this very match. The Kabuki Warriors are a great team and have been decent champions, but this will be the end of the line for them. Jade and Bianca will become new champions.
Winner: Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill
5. Tag Team Match
Randy Orton and Kevin Owens vs The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga)
This KO vs the Bloodline rivalry has been great. From the action to the storytelling to all the twists and turns. Now, Randy Orton and Tama Tonga are involved. This will be Tama Tonga’s WWE debut. I don’t see this match being any different to the other KO/Bloodline matches, especially with the result. The Bloodline wins.
Winner: The Bloodline
