Lia Maivia To Be Inducted Into WWE Hall of Fame
The WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2024 is now complete with Lia Maivia, grandmother of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, being the final induction of the year, despite speculation that the late Bray Wyatt would be the final induction. The Rock announced on Instagram that he will be inducting his grandmother, as he had done for his father, Rocky Johnson and grandfather, “High Chief” Peter Maivia.
Lia Maivia had a hand in promoting wrestling on the island of Hawaii in the 1980’s, becoming one of the earliest female promotors in wrestling. She took over the NWA territory Polynesian Pro Wrestling once run by her husband Peter Maivia before his death in 1982.
Maivia passed away in 2008 at the age of 77, the same year her grandson inducted Peter Maivia and Rocky Johnson.
