CM Punk To Appear At WrestleMania XL
It turns out, WrestleMania 40 will be straight edge after all, despite the Straight Edge Saviour being injured. CM Punk made his long awaited return to WWE at Survivor Series in Chicago, and would make his in ring return at the Royal Rumble.
It was in this match that Punk would tear his triceps before going on to be the runner up to Cody Rhodes. CM Punk made his return to Monday Night Raw in Chicago after tearing his triceps in the Royal Rumble match.
During his in ring segment, Punk stated that he wasn’t medically cleared but his mouth still works. Before he could make his announcement, Drew McIntyre came out to mock Punk, inviting the Second City Saint to commentate during the World Heavyweight Championship match.
This would bring out Seth Rollins, who asked the crowd whether they wanted Punk on commentary or as the special guest referee. A comment was made about how Punks fall counting arm was injured, leading to Punk doing a three count with his left arm, before Punk stated that he wouldn’t be able to call a fair match and that he’d be better off on commentary.
Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre will square off on Night 2 of WrestleMania 40. This will be 1 of 2 World Championship matches on Night 2, as Roman Reigns is set to defend his Universal Championship against Cody Rhodes.
