WWE Elimination Chamber Winners & Top Five Moments
WWE made its long-awaited return to Australia with the Elimination Chamber PLE event from Optus Stadium in Perth, the very last stop before Wrestlemania 40. Australia was represented well with Australia’s own Grayson Waller bringing his Grayson Waller Effect hosting Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. Indi Hartwell joined Candice LaRae for a shot at the Kabuki Warriors for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles, and the main event saw Australia’s own Rhea Ripley defend her title against Nia Jax.
Over 52,000 fans jampacked Optus Oval to witness a great night of wrestling in Australia, and now we know who will be challenging who for the titles at Wrestlemania. Below we will take a look at the top five moments from Elimination Chamber, reveal the chamber winners, and also talk about the Australians on the card.
Australians In Action
As mentioned, Indi Hartwell was a part of the pre-show match tagging with Candice LeRae up against Asuka and Kairi Sane. It was a solid back and forth match, the Kabuki Warriors won with a very solid double team move with Sane coming off the top. It was a good watch to open up the night, with a very good tag team match.
Grayson Waller had the Grayson Waller Effect where Cody Rhodes would call out The Rock, Austin Theory would copy The Rock until Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes took him out. A massive curb stomp ended Theory’s night. Waller considered helping Theory but then decided to just relax against the ropes and watch the carnage unfold.
Rhea Ripley retained her Women’s Title in the main event of the event, it was a bit of a slobberknocker with Nia Jax getting on top of Rhea for a brief period, but the Australian star managed to fight her way back and win the match and send 52k fans in the arena home happy. The fans were booing Nia from the moment she walked out to the moment Rhea won the match.
Elimination Chamber Winners
Becky Lynch would be the sole survivor of the women’s Elimination Chamber but would be upstaged by Tiffany Stratton who the fans were very keen on during the match. Stratton would pull off some memorable moments to add to the highlights of the match. But the women’s chamber was a solid match, many memorable moments for the match and really set the stage for a great event.
Drew McIntyre was the sole survivor of the men’s, it looked very much like Randy Orton was headed to WrestleMania to face Rollins, but out nowhere Logan Paul took out Randy Ordon with the brass knuckles to give Drew the win. The Road to Wrestlemania is heating up, with the Chamber match possibly unleashing some more matches for the event.
Top Five Moments From Elimination Chamber
Cody Rhodes Calls Out The Rock
With his impending match against Roman Reigns during the Grayson Waller Effect Cody Rhodes laid down an open challenge to The Rock. Seth Rollins would warn him that facing The Rock meant he’d be at the mercy of The Bloodline, but The American Nightmare wants The Rock, at any time at any place.
Tiffany Stratton has arrived.
Some of the memorable moments of the Women’s Elimination Chamber belonged to the newest member of the WWE roster former NXT star Tiffany Stratton as the fans cheered hard for her, but she also showed why she’s going to be a future star of the company with some big moments inside of the Elimination Chamber.
Unified Tag Team Match
It must be said that the WWE Unified Tag Team Title Match was a show stealer, it was an impressive show of Tag Team Wrestling and why they must keep this art form going. Both teams had their great moves and showed off an exciting show of skill throughout the match. This match was easily the top match of the night, even with a bit of a blackout during it because the fans were all over Dom Mysterio and the front row weren’t PG-13. Which also added to why this was the match of the night.
Rhea Ripley retains the Women’s Title
Without sounding biased, but the fans clearly found this result to be the moment of the night for them and it was a good moment for the show to end on. Also, without discounting the abilities of Nia Jax, as fans weren’t keen on her the entire night, but she also put on a good display, and it was a very good women’s title match. 52,000 people left very happy!
Randy Orton put on the performance of the night.
After getting an “injury” during the match, Randy Orton made us believe beyond belief that he was done and dusted in this match only to almost steal the win before Logan Paul would clock him. The fans were slowly pulling for the “injured” Orton to finish off Drew to walk away as the winner and meet Rollins at WrestleMania. But alas it wasn’t to be as Logan Paul who was in his first chamber match and showed some great skill as well, including a splash from the top of the chamber. But the moment goes to Orton for bringing the fans into the chamber match and have them ride every moment until the very end.
There you have it folks, the 2024 Elimination Chamber from Perth, Australia done and dusted and now we move onto WrestleMania. Becky Lynch will be facing Rhea Ripley for the Women’s Title, Drew McIntyre will be facing Seth Rollins for the WWE Title and Cody Rhodes has the chance to finish his story against Roman Reigns.
But will battle The Rock in the meantime? Exciting times ahead as it’s WrestleMania season!
