Vale Australian Wrestling Legend Andy Harpas
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Australian Pro Wrestling Legend Andy “The Animal Hurricane” Harpas who recently passed away. Harpas got his break in the original World Championship Wrestling against his mentor Sheik Wadi Ayoub, before becoming a household name in Australian Wrestling.
Harpas would go on to wrestle all the top talent of the day, from fellow Australian legend Mario Milano, Andre The Giant, Spiros Arion, King Curtis, Ron Miller, Larry O’Dea, and many more!
Later in his career Harpas became a promoter and promoted Australian Championship Wrestling, Wrestling Xtreme Australia, selling out many shows around New South Wales. Harpas was also a trainer of many superstars, he owned a gym at Liverpool. A lot of his students are still active in the world of professional wrestling today.
We here at PWDownunder wish to offer our deepest condolences to the Harpas family and would like to take a moment to remember and thank Andy for all his contributions to Australian Wrestling as a promoter, a wrestler and a trainer.
We shall never forget you Andy.
