Sting Announces Retirement For 2024
On the October 19th (11am AEST) episode of AEW Dynamite, The Man Known as Sting announced he is set to retire at Revolution 2024. The match will mark 3 years since Sting had his debut match at Revolution 2021, teaming with Darby Allin to beat Brian Cage and Ricky Starks of Team Taz in a street fight.
Sting would go on to thank many of his former team mates and rivals, including Lex Luger and Hulk Hogan, before bringing up Ric Flair and having praise for him and thanking him for making Sting a household name in professional wrestling at the first Clash of Champions, and for 1990 Great American Bash where Sting got the victory for his first World Heavyweight Championship.
Revolution 2024 would mark the end of a stellar 39 year career, in which Sting won 13 World Championships, and inducted into 4 Hall of Fames (TNA in 2012, Pro Wrestling and WWE in 2016, WON in 2018).
