Adam Copeland Debuts At AEW WrestleDream
The wrestling world was shocked to see another WWE legend make the jump to AEW this week when Adam Copeland, known in WWE as “The Rated-R Superstar” Edge, made his debut after the main event at AEW WrestleDream on October 1st.
The main event featured Christian Cage defeating Darby Allin, retaining the AEW TNT Championship in the process, before proceeding to beat Allin down with the assistance of Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne.
Sting was unsuccessful in turning the tables against Cage and his group, leading to Sting being placed on the canvas in preparation for a con-chair-to before the arena went dark.
The screen featured a figure in a car with “Cry Of Achilles” by Alter Bridge playing. When the lights came back on, the iconic intro for “Metalingus” rang through the Climate Pledge Arena as Copeland made his signature entrance in front of the ecstatic crowd.
Cage, assuming Copeland was willing to help with the assault, passes him the chair. Copeland proceeds to smack Luchasaurus and Wayne with the chair before hitting the spear on Wayne’s taped mid-section. The show closes with Cage escaping to the ramp, holding the belt in the air as Copeland shakes the hands of Allin and Sting in the ring.
Copeland’s WWE contract expired on the same day as his AEW debut.
