Aussie Open Reunite, Win ROH World Tag Team Championships
Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher have reunited at ROH Death Before Dishonor, 2 months after Davis was sidelined with an injury, forcing the team to relinquish both the IWGP World Tag Team and NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championships.
However, the Aussie tandem didn’t waste any time reclaiming tag gold in the form of the ROH World Tag Team Championships, their third championship belt of 2023. They were victorious against defending champions, The Lucha Brothers, Penta El Zero Miedo ď Rey Fenix. As well as Matt Taven & Mike Bennett of The Kingdom, and The Best Friends, Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta.
As previously stated, this is Aussie Open’s third championship victory in 2023. The team held both the IWGP World Tag Team and NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championships simultaneously before Davis’ untimely injury put a halt to the teams dominating run.
In the meantime, Kyle Fletcher was featured on AEW Dynamite, in an unsuccessful challenge against AEW International Champion, Orange Cassidy. Both Fletcher as well as Davis were signed to AEW after the fact. It’s safe to assume that they will feature prominently on both AEW television and on ROH during their reign.
