The time has come for the annual Money in the Bank PPV. And what a show we have. 3 Championship matches, 2 MITB Ladder matches, a civil war, and a partridge in a pear tree.

  1. Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match

-Ricochet vs Shinsuke Nakamura vs LA Knight vs Santos Escobar vs Butch vs Damien Priest vs Logan Paul

First up, we have the men’s MITB match. Every man in this match has never won the briefcase, nor have they won a main roster World Championship. It’s also the first Ladder Match ever for Logan Paul, and what an experience it will be for him. It’ll be quite exciting to see how he utilises the ladder, especially with Ricochet, Butch, and Santos Escobar in the match. Besides Paul, Santos Escobar, Butch, LA Knight, and Damien Priest have never been in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match either, with Shinsuke and Ricochet both appearing twice previously. In my opinion, it’ll come down to one of three men winning, being LA Knight, Damien Priest, and Logan Paul. LA Knight has become a highly popular star over the last few months, Damien Priest has proven that he can hold his own against the big names, and Logan Paul has been one of the best celebrity crossover stars, and is the full package.

Winner: Logan Paul

  • Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Zelina Vega vs Becky Lynch vs Bayley vs Iyo Sky vs Trish Stratus vs Zoey Stark

This match will be interesting to watch. Trish Stratus is heading into her first ever ladder match, and Bayley is the only person in this match to have won Ms MITB. There are a contrast in styles between the women involved, from a high flyer in Iyo Sky, to a more mat based style in Becky Lynch and everything in between. I can see a rift happening between Bayley and Iyo that could cost either or both of them, and send to be a little clunky since returning full time. Becky seems to just be there. Zoey COULD surprise us, but I doubt it. Zelina has been putting in the work, and that’s who I’m hoping wins.

Winner: Zelina

  • Singles Match

Cody Rhodes vs Dominik Mysterio (with Rhea Ripley)

This feud started on a segment of Miz TV, and the basis of it is Dominik thinks Cody is a horrible father because he’s on the road and wants to win a world championship (sound familiar). Cody agrees (kinda sorta) that he isn’t the best father, and that Rey made mistakes because he was looking at one. I love the heat that Dominik gets. He is so easy to hate. He plays the coward so well. I see Rhea playing a part in this match. Speaking of Rhea, one of this days, one of the male wrestlers is going to clock her and that’s going to get a massive pop. Cody’s arm will get targeted, but it won’t be the deciding factor. Both been could benefit from a win here, but Cody would benefit more.

Winner: Cody Rhodes

  • World Heavyweight Championship

Seth Rollins (c) vs Finn Bálor

The rematch that’s 7 years in the making. SummerSlam 2016 was the last time these 2 faced off in a World Championship match, when they went at it to crown the inaugural Universal Championship. During that match, Finn tore his labrum after Seth powerbombed him into the barricade. Finn is hungry for revenge. Seth’s overwhelming popularity has also been a point of contention, and a sore point for Finn, who thinks it should have been him who received that praise from the fans. I don’t see Seth losing the title just yet. I think he’ll hold it for another month or 2, not sure who to, though.

Winner: Seth Rollins

  • Bloodline Civil War

The Bloodline (Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa) (With Paul Heyman) vs The Uso’s (Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso)

Not much has been done to explain the rules of the Bloodline Civil War. Is it just a regular tag match? Is there a stipulation? I’m not sure. This is the most heated match of the whole show. The storytelling of the Bloodline Finn the start has been amazing. And it was just a matter of time before The Uso’s split from Roman. Now, both teams need a win here. The Uso’s need to win to show they no longer need the Bloodline to survive, and to bring Roman back down to Earth. Roman and Solo need to win to show that Roman is still head of the table, and could cement Solo is the new right hand man. I’m going to go with Roman and Solo winning as they lost at Backlash.

Winner: The Bloodline.

  • Women’s Tag Team Championship

Ronda Rousey and Shayner Baszler (c) vs Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan

This is the one match I’m not looking forward to, outside of seeing how Liv’s shoulder holds up. The Women’s Tag Team Championship has been booked poorly since the beginning. This match will be a typical Ronda/Shayna match, I reckon. Lots of joint manipulation, submission attempts, mat based work. It’s Liv’s first match since the start of May after she hurt her shoulder, which forced her and Raquel to forfeit the tag titles. My money is on Ronda and Shayna winning.

Winner: Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler

  • Intercontinental Championship

Gunther (c) vs Matt Riddle

Gunther has been great as Intercontinental Champion. Having held the title for nearing 390 days, he is the longest reigning champion this century. And he’s about to face a very determined and fired up Matt Riddle. It’ll be hard hitting, faced paced, and it’ll hurt just watching it, let alone be in the match. There’s a good chance Imperium will be involved somehow, especially since Riddle hurt Giovanni Vinci. I reckon it’s about time Gunther lost the title, and start focusing on the World Heavyweight Championship, he has put on the work for it.

Winner: Matt Riddle

Overall

Money in the Bank should be an exciting show. Ladder matches in general are a good watch. It’ll be interesting to see how this effects the road to SummerSlam.
