CM Punk AEW Return Set For Inaugural Episode Of Collision + Match Announcement
Former AEW World Champion CM Punk is set to return to the promotion after a nine-month absence due to suspension and injury, both occurring at AEW’s All Out pay-per-view. Punk was suspended and stripped of the championship he won that night following his controversial promo at the show’s media scrum that resulted in an backstage altercation with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks.
Despite the animosity between the parties involved, fans have waited for the day that Punk would make his return to an AEW ring, and with the announcement of AEW’s third weekly television show, Collision, that day would arrive sooner rather than later.
On the June 7th episode of Dynamite, AEW President Tony Khan made it known to fans that Punk will team up with the World Tag Team Champions FTR in the main event of AEW Collision against ROH Television Champion Samoa Joe, and Bullet Club Gold members, Jay White and Juice Robinson.
