Michelle K. Hasluck On WA’s First No Ring Event
Can you imagine a live wrestling show with no ring? Well.. you don’t have to. It’s very much a reality here in Australia now.
Describing themselves as a “Party Entertainment Service” on facebook, ‘Dude, Where’s My Ring’ held the first live no ring professional wrestling event in the state of Western Australia. Taking place at the Badlands Bar in Perth last Sunday February 19, the event was a mix of wrestling styles and live music.
Pro Wrestling Downunder caught up with local Michelle K. Hasluck to get her thoughts on the event, the crowds reaction and future ‘no ring’ events
“It’s the first time doing this for myself. It was a Sunday, new venue, match types WA hasn’t seen before and it went beautifully. Couldn’t ask for a first show to come off better.”
Hasluck on the crowds reaction to the show..
“We only had the one Deathmatch and they eat it up. We did have 4 different kind’s of matches and me and Shahil did lean more hardcore at the end to baby them into it. But they were a bloody thirsty bunch.”
On future ‘no ring’ events in Australia..
“I do think there is a future. I consider this style an artform. If it’s done RIGHT, 100% it’s just an alternative and a chance to get really creative. I’m lucky that here we DO have some phenomenal talent who really thrived in that different environment.”
“It was well presented, good venue, bands and everyone loved it… Gore and all.”
