Aussie Mainstay Among Those Chosen for Inaugural Stipulation
Once again the determination of Australian talent has been allowed to shine on the big stage. Australia’s own Grayson Waller (formally known in his homeland as the red cup wielding Matty Wahlberg) has been selected as one of five NXT stars to participate in the first of it’s kind, NXT Iron Survivor Challenge Match. Alongside rising star Carmelo Hayes, former deathmatch connoisseur turned straight-laced progressive Joe Gacy, and Ireland’s second favourite wrestling son, JD McDonagh, with the fifth and final competitor yet to be decided.

Waller has been a regular favourite on the NXT brand and the ever present face of Australia on the show since the promotion of Adelaide’s Rhea Ripley to the RAW brand, as well as the departure of the recently former AEW Interim Women’s Champion and Queensland’s own, Toni Storm.

The “21st Century Success Story” was hand picked alongside his opponents by a selection of NXT officials, including Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative, Shawn Michaels. Senior Vice President of Live Events “Road Dogg” Jesse James. Producer Molly Holly and WWE Hall of Famer special guests Alundra Blayze and X-Pac, during a panel that was broadcast on the November 29th episode of NXT.
